Thanks Elaine. I'm still trying to figure out who I was talking with. Poker seems to be popping into my head and I have a decent Idea who it was but I won't know till next Saturday.

The thing about this that bothers me the most is that the insurance companies are definitely taking advantage of those that have quit smoking under the guise of the anti-tobacco/nicotine movement. There is a way of testing for smoking, but they elect to test for nicotine.

What impact on a player's life insurance premiums does playing poker in a smoke-filled room have - if:
a. The player is an ex-smoker.
b. If 50% of the smoke is in fact e-cig vapor.
c. If he cheats regularly and is therefore more likely to be shot.

These are important questions that poker-playing actuaries must be continually asking themselves.

I'd like to invite criticism of my article on the ECCA website, please:

Tobacco Harm Reduction

I suggest that the word "safe" in the following sentence (from the article) be changed to "far less hazardous alternatives to cigarettes" or something similar.

We now have two and a half decades of research on Snus that prove they are safe [13][14][15].

So we can clearly see that reducing the death rate has no importance whatsoever to the EU administration, it is all hollow words masking the true goal: keep that pharma money coming in

and

This shows that the saving of life is of no importance. The maintenance of pharma income is the #1 item on the agenda, with the maintenance of jobs in related areas coming in at #2, Europe-wide, no matter the cost in human life.

I suggest changing the word "no" to "little" in both sentences.
