I have been placing numerous orders this week trying to find that perfect tobacco, regardless of Cigar, Pipe, Cig, or all 3. Right now my favorite is alien Visions (AVE) Havana Gold. Rich, woodsy, complex and sharp. Almost detect a hint of cedar. I have a hard time meeting their schedule as they only take about 300 orders a day and I work days on the East Coast. I HATE Nutty, slathered in vanilla and / or caramel, chocolate infused, and floral or perfumey blends! NASTY. I just about settled on HHR Dragon's Breath (still a bit weak) and Halo Turkish blend (pricey, but spot on). Please let me know if any of you know of any vendors / flavors that may meet the criteria I need. Oh, and I don't care as much about a heavy throat hit as I do a heavy lung hit / thick vapor.

Thanks for taking time to help!

I have not had much success finding tobacco flavors I like...but I have tried probably 40 or more. Given your description, the one that comes to mind is Huntsman from Heathers Heavenly Vapes...it has that woodsy grassy flavor to me. You can get it in just about any nic pg/vg ratio, so clouds of vapor shouldn't be a problem.

Hey gbojar, based on what you have stated, I'd recommend Fire Cured from GoodeJuice. If you haven't had any natural tobacooe extracts, it may take you by surprise. Try out a sample and that juice will determine whether or not you would enjoy straight NETs (naturally extracted tobaccos) with no additional flavors that seem contrary to an actual naked tobacco leaf. You also may want to steer clear of Tobacco Absolute, which is an ingredient that is added to some tobacco juices where some vendors will tout the juice as a natural tobacco extract when in reality, the juice has an added ingredient that tastes more like a concentrated version of an extract. If you want to steer clear of perfume then don't vape the Tobacco Absolute juices. Generally if you email a vendor and ask them to clarify if they use TA, they will tell you the truth.

p.s. I don't mind TA, but that is a recent development.

Thanks everyone, and Mr.Mann, I actually read that Natural Tobaccos thread before joining so I am already ahead of the curve. When asked who referred me I put your name since you gave the best info. So far after reading it I've had: HHR - Huntsman, Dragons Fire (liked a lot), Gandolf, and Darkhorse ... Vaperite: Natural House Extracted, Cuban Supreme, and Tuscany. Didn't care much for Vaperite except NHE was OK, just not enough flavor.
Funny you mention Goodejuice: Fire Cured, just ordered it today based on Nick's recommendation, and lastly I ordered and am still waiting on Ahlusion: Devil Dog, Blue Grass Burley, and JG Blend (thought coffee might be nice in morning). Do you think I will have luck with any of the Ahlusion's I ordered? Looking forward to Goodejuice order now! Thanks again all.

Thanks, bud. I personally don't care for Vaperite -- too much hassle on coils without a lot of payoff. If you want or don't mind the hassle with a huge payoff, try W2V premium tobaccos. Do I think you will have luck with Ahlusion? That really will depend on how intense of a tobacco experience you want. BGB and DD are uncompromising iterations of a tobacco juice that even for me are special occasion juices. (BGB is a little more accessible, but they both are almost too good to gulp. LOL) Next time you talk to Nick, tell him I said "hey." Congrats on your 5 posts, and I'll see you on the other side.

Here is what the very knowledgeable and thorough reviewer, billherbst, had to say about BGB and Smooth Criminal from Ahlusion today.

....

Over my two years of vaping, I’ve been mostly a tobacco guy. Yes, I also vape coffees, sweets, and fruits, but tobacco has been my mainstay, in all its variations from straight tobaccos through the myriad blends with sweeter ingredients added (RY4s and the like).

Although I’ve had some darn tasty juices made with synthetic tobacco flavorings, I prefer naturally extracted tobaccos and have followed their development with great interest. By and large, NETs taste better, in my experience. It’s that simple. In some ways, they actually get closer to fulfilling the carrot-and-donkey promise of great flavor that smoking tobacco was supposed to provide but never really delivered. Or did so with horrible downsides. The very best NETs are utterly wonderful vapes if one likes the flavor of real tobacco, and the availability of new and even better NETs is growing by leaps and bounds with each passing season.

I’m fortunate to have vaped many (a majority I’d imagine) of the NET tobacco juices in the retail marketplace. The list of good ones is far too long to detail here. Many of this thread’s denizens already know them all. My most recent favorites are two Frankenjuice blends---different NETs by the same vendor mixed together. Both are 50/50 mixes. The first is Natural Perique/Organic Tobacco #1 from GoodEJuice (christened Symphonie Fantastique by our cohort scarf-ace), while the second is Tobacco Haze/Conspiracy from Mom&PopVaporShop (recommended by the hangdude). They’re terrific.

Well, Smooth Criminal and Blue Grass Burley are at least on a par with those two, and just about any other NETs I have in my stash. For my particular palate, they might even be a bit superior. And that’s saying something, given how good Symphonie Fantastique is.

Smooth Criminal is certainly what the first half of its name states---a smooth, relatively light blend of tobacco varietals with just enough natural sweetness, but seemingly unadulterated by any wayward flavors. There may be non-tobacco concentrates used in the recipe profile (I don’t actually know), but they’re so well-blended that they don’t call out their names, instead performing quietly in the supporting background roles for which they were intended here. Great stuff.

As good as Smooth Criminal is, however, Blue Grass Burley is even better. I’ve had numerous Burley-based vapes along the way, and I have to admit that Burley is not at the top of my list of favorite varietal tobacco flavors (I’m a Turkish lover, and you can keep your Virginian). That said, Blue Grass Burley is downright amazing. Even though the core flavor is not technically one I love, the presentation here is astonishing and wins me over completely. The overall taste is ripe, round, and complex, and the natural sweetness shines through deliciously. BGB is the hands-down winner of the Burley Sweepstakes.

I’m undecided yet as to whether I’ll order a larger bottle of Smooth Criminal. I currently have nine liters of juice on hand, and I’m also knee-deep into DIY juice-making---I just created a Sesame Cake that's to die for... Basically, I need to buy more retail juice like I need another hole in my wallet. Even so, Blue Grass Burley is definitely at the top of my brand-spanking-new and already too-large Ahlusion Wish List. Given how good BGB is, I’m a goner for a sizable order that will have to include Devil Dog!, among numerous others.

If I end up bankrupt and living in a carboard box down by the bridge, I'll blame you, Mr.Mann. Thanks again!

If you have tried alien visions havannah gold then i'm assuming you have also tried their flue cured? If not I would give that a try. It is quickly becoming my all day vape. It has a nice "woodsy/burn" taste to it IMO. I thought the havannah gold was okay but it tasted like I was licking the inside of a cigar box to me.

Thanks J, funny you mention it, those were the two I got from AVE and though good I felt the flue cured was almost grassy where what I liked about the Havana was the "cedar" like taste ... lol. I work days east coast so it's hard to order from AVE, one reason I'm looking elsewhere. Smok Tek carries AVE and is right down the street from me but he doesn't have the Havana.
