I just cannot find good tobacco flavors. I've tried Flavourart and Perfumers Apprentice and neither is very good in my opinion. Too perfumey, too spicey, it's all just headache inducing. The only two "premade tobaccos" I've tried that I like are Johnson Creek and Tasty Vapor. My understanding is that the latter uses real tobacco steeped and the former I have no idea. Can I assume Johnson Creek probably steeps their own as well? The only reason I assume that is because it tastes nothing like the premade flavors I've tried. unless they are getting their flavors from somewhere none of us know about.

My only issue with steeping tobacco is that I also assume it contains tobacco alkaloids as a result. True or false?

My other flavors are great, but the tobaccos still escape me, any ideas?

Not much help here,, DIY noob myself., but I agree. Tobacco flavas are really really hard to get right. Also, I'm particular about my coffee vape too, and find that elusive as well. I have had success with my simple fruity mixes.. so, I guess I'll leave it to the pros for my 'bacco and coffee vapes, and continue to mix sweets and fruits. Still a win in my book.
Best of luck!!

My understanding is that TV steeps actual tobacco to get their tobacco flavored juice. Does it contain TSA? Probably some, but it is still not combusted.

I thought I read where JC uses the same flavoring chemicals as Dekang and most can be found on TPA's "molecule" site, but they are even more difficult to work with than tobacco flavoring.

I am vaping a number of single flavor FA tobaccos lately, but it is not because I think FA tobaccos are great by themselves. It is because I am in the process of working up a new tobacco recipe and am looking for the right "notes" to have in the mix. All of my tobacco recipes are combinations of flavorings. The first one took me 5 months of working on it. I am guessing that during the process I threw out 100 batches, but it is only a guess as I did not track that part, nor would I want to. (During that process I found one that was almost good, but not what I was going for at that time, but went back later and made an addition and it is now an old friend's favorite vape.)

I totally agree, I cannot find good tobacco flavors. I have to make them. They are hard to get right as Chancey was quick to say. (Very wise DIY'er for being so new to it)

HaHa.. Thankx Hoosier, but I'm wayy toOo new at this, to be called "very wise" so quickly... I would say it's more like knowing when I'm in Way Over My Head! LoL. My attempts at 'bacco flavors can be compared to smoking dandelions soaked in perfume)). I don't think any amount of steep would help them.
I'll stick with fruits and sweets.

Happy Thanksgiving ALL!

I'm with the majority here. To date I have tried 17 FA tobaccos, 5 TPA and Seedman's Commercial. The only one I like is FA Virginia mixed with TA. I was going to post a new thread asking about different tobacco flavor companies when I found this thread. Where do we go from here? I can't find any other tobacco flavors that aren't from these three. When I think I've found something new, lo and behold, they're made by one of these companies. I'm not dissing them, I just can't find anything that works. They're either too much like perfume or they taste good for a few days and then change into a different animal. Aren't there any other flavorists who create tobacco flavorings? The supply is mind boggling when it comes to fruits, nuts, candy, coffee etc. but for those of us who want a really good solid tobacco, there are only 3 companies producing their version of brand X, Y and Z. All are different yet none have arrived IMO. Kudos to them for trying. Hopefully someone will nail it somewhere down the road.

I had the same problem although I didn't try 17 Flavour Art tobacco Flavors. I got a Virginia, Cowboy and some other flavors for trade if anyone's interested. I want to know about Maxx Blend Flavour Art- any opinions? I thought I'd still give this a shot with Seedman's or Maxx Blend. I am also interested in Flavour Art Ry4 as an option. I have no interest in Flavor Apprentice as alot of their flavors really did not appeal to me. Flavor west is OK for me on some of the flavors if I add a small amount of water to the recipe it dilutes better but their flavor is on the light side but thats better for someone as sensitive to scent as me.

Lynda, another supplier of tobacco flavorings that comes to mind is Totally Wicked.

Totally Wicked E Cigs

They have the Red Label and Black Label tobacco concentrates. I think they are a little pricey but they are good flavorings. And they give a fairly good description of the flavorings.

There may be other suppliers of tobacco flavorings, but you have mentioned the only other ones I can think of offhand.

Hope you can find one you enjoy.
