tobacco flavors are hit or miss, the only one I've like from FA is royal - the rest have been sitting on my shelf since I got em. FA makes great fruit flavors and GREAT mixes (hypnotic mist, liquid amber, etc). Not sure they're the best for tobacco though.

A bit off topic but man i love that royal flavor and was trying to fish for an accurate description of it in another thread.
How would you describe "royal", Darkhood?

For me, DIY juice has been a lesson in patience. My suggestion is to get a couple flavor mixes that you can live with and keep mixing/vaping those as your everyday vapes. Meanwhile you can keep trying new mixes to find some others that you like. This method has been working well for me. At first, I used the RWhy4 mix for my main vape. I got to the point where I would mix a few new 5ml concoctions each weekend and let them steep. Now I have about 10 little bottles (well labeled with mix and born on date). I keep letting them steep and try them each weekend.

I now have three flavors that I like. So I mix 30 ML bottles of those three flavors, while I keep experimenting with others. It's actually becoming pretty fun.

By the way, I find the tobacco flavors have to steep at least a week or two for me before they start coming to life. The honey tobacco from WL is an easy mix and tastes pretty good by itself after two weeks.
Good luck.

Here & There
The easiest way to get a fast decent tobacco vape especially for a beginner is to get the super concentrated chinese flavorings offered at Vaping Zone and ECX under Tobacco Express. My taste buds like Old Captain, Black Cigar, Island Tobacco and Dunhill the best. RTS Vapes also has chinese flavorings but they have different names there. Just thought I'd mention this as its very easy to make a fast vapeable tobacco going this route. Later on I also recommend Hangsen tobaccos from ECX or VZ--steep for at least a week.

Looks like I need to try the Vaping Zone super concentrate. I like their Honey Flue Cured Tobacco e-juice, so maybe I should try their Honey Flue Cured Tobacco super concentrated flavoring. I know what it's supposed to taste like, so it would just be a matter of getting the strength right.

I might also look into some of the Chinese tobacco flavors.

The different concentrations of Cowboy that I mixed up a few days ago are still sitting on the shelf and turning different shades of yellow. I'll probably give them a week or so before trying them. I tried the 5% Cowboy mix that's over a week old now, which is the darkest of them all, and it still has that weird chemical/floral/sweet/soapy/whatever flavor that I can't describe, but it doesn't seem as strong as I remember it being when I first mixed it. I'm not getting any tobacco taste from it, though.

I tried the RWhy4 that's a couple of days old, and it's definately getting better. I'm going to let it sit a while longer and see what happens.

I've got a pretty good order of stuff coming this week from Wizard Labs, so maybe I can try some other recipes.

I also ordered some Seedman's Commercial concentrate this weekend. I want to try Scubabatdan's tobacco base that uses it and the diluted TA tobacco blend.

Thanks to everyone for all the help.

I received a big order of flavors yesterday and mixed up a couple samples. I made 5ml of TPA Black Honey Tobacco at 5% and 5ml of the "Black CherryBacco" recipe that's included in the eJuice Me Up calculator. (7% TPA Tobacco Blend, 4% TPA Black Cherry, 1% EM).

I tried both of them right after mixing, and neither was too bad, so maybe there's hope. But they could be better, so I'm going to let them sit a few days before trying them again.

The RWhy4 I mixed up Friday is starting to taste pretty good. A little more tobacco flavor wouldn't hurt though. I may add a couple drops of Tobacco Blend to it and see what happens, and I may mix up another batch of the Double RY4 without the added Caramel and Bavarian Cream to see what it's like after it stands a couple days.

The 5% Cowboy Blend that's been steeping for a week still has a weird non-tobacco taste to me. I'm thinking of splitting it in half and putting a drop of vinegar in one half to see if it will kill the floral/sweet flavor in it. The other half I'll let steep for a while longer and see what happens.

Still waiting on my Commercial Cigarette and Honey flavors from Seedman.

Thanks again, everyone.

I've made some progress, and found a few flavors I can live with while I experiment more.

The TFA Black Honey Tobacco at 5% isn't bad, after sitting a couple of days. Flavor is a little weak for me, but I'm going to let it sit a few more days before upping the percentage. I also mixed up some with 5% BHT and 2.5% apple - it still needs something, but I'll let it steep a few days before messing with it.

TFA Flue Cured Tobacco at 5% actually tastes pretty good to me. Maybe need to add another percent or two, but again, I'll let it steep a few more days before doing that.

Using the recipe in the eJuice Me Up calculator, I mixed up some Bahama Mama. I used the TFA Coconut Extra, and it had too much Coconut, so I added another percent of the orange, pineapple, and mango. That helped, but I think I still need to lower the Coconut Extra for the next batch. Anybody know how much stronger TFA Coconut Extra is than regular Coconut?

I also made some Black Cherrybacco, using the recipe in the calculator. It's not bad, either, after sitting a couple of days.

The RWhy4 has been steeping for about a week and tastes really good. I need to mix up a bigger batch of that. It may be too sweet for an all day vape, but I'll definitely be using more of it.

I also tried the Cowboy Blends mixes I made at 1,3,5,7,and 9 percent. They need to sit longer, but the 5%, which has been steeping the longest, is starting to lose some of the flowery/sweet/chemical flavor. Still not much like tobacco, though. I'm thinking it may be possible to mix in some Tobacco Absolute or something and save it.:)

Also, since my main vape right now is the Vaping Zone's Honey Flue Cured Tobacco, I ordered some of their Super Concentrated Honey Flue Cured flavoring so i should be able to replicate it. Just have to find the right percentage. The description on their site recommends starting at 2.5%, but I usually get an extra shot of flavor, so I guess I'll start at 3% and go from there.

I've went flavor crazy. I just got some Commercial Cigarette and Honey Flavor from Seedman in the mail today. I've got about 40 flavors here now, and I'm out of little bottles. Seems like there's never enough little bottles. (More have been ordered, though.) I'm afraid to throw anything out, thinking the bad ones may get better with time. And I don't know when I'll ever have the time to try all of these.

I would start at the recoomend % with the VZ SC I like alot of flavor too but with these less is more IMO .

I did that. I mixed it at 2.5% and it tasted ok after a couple days. I then added a couple of more drops and it got better. I'm guessing it's at about 2.7-2.8% now, and it tastes just right to me.
