Hey all

I am loving this concept of DIY but I can't stand tobacco w/ a taste of hay/grassy"ness". Does anybody have any suggestions for flavorings?

TIA,
Richard

What tob flavorings are you using that you are getting a "grassy" taste from. Another member was looking for a "grassy" tob flavor. TA?

Seedman Commercial concentrate is a good tobacco base, if you're okay with PG. I use it at 12%, with some hazelnut and a few drops of TA diluted, or no hazelnut and a bit more TA.
I'm finding TPA Tobacco Blend alc also works well, with vanilla, black cherry, ..., the flavored tobacco mixes.

My Freedom Smokes turkish blend definitely doesn't have any grassiness to it. It used to taste spot spot on like Zig-Zag turkish blend until they changed suppliers or something. Now it doesn't have much of a taste at all, kind of a really mild maple syrup. Whatever flavor is used for making that could be good in higher concentrations.

I didn't get any of that grassiness though from the FA tobaccos I'vr tried, especially perique black.

I know exactly the grassy flavor you are talking about. Flavourart Virginia, Desert Ship, Perique Black and Latakia don't seem to have it that much, although some have noticed an earthy flavor in the Latakia. I also just got some Tuscan Reserve from Goodejuice that has a strong cigar flavor, but not as much of a "green" note.
