Hi all.

I'm just starting diy and need help finding a few tobacco flavors to experiment with.

My favorite juice is Hhv Serendipity. I also like Bobas and Bounty Hunter(not really tobacco but tobacco based imo). I'm not looking to clone anything. I'm just trying to give an idea what my tastes are.

I don't like grassy/hay or perfume.

I like a little sweetness.

I currently have a cigar and a coumarin. They're just ok.

Not opposed to ry4 as long as it's not too carmelly.

Any suggestions?

I'm not into tobacco flavoring, but several people are raving over RY6.

I hear good things abut Flavour Art's tobaccos but not have had the chance to try them yet. Now for tobaccos I have tried, I'm very pleased and impressed with Vaping Zone's tobacco selection in the super concentrated section. 2.5-3% is all you'll need to mix in your base. I'm confident VZ tobacco flavors will not leave you disappointed.

The Perfumers/Flavorer's Apprentice RY4 Double mentioned above is good. I use the RY4 Double along with Want2Vape's RY4...around a 50/50 mix of RY4D at 15% and WV2 RY4 at 20%. WV2 RY4 may have some natural component.

Just yesterday I came across this source of Natural Extracted Tobacco (NET) flavorings. A couple RY4's from here were graded well on billherbst's RY4 Evaluations.

Tried the VZ Parliament and Tabakum, both good tabacco flavor, but in my opinion Ry1 Hangsen from ecigexpress is the best true tobacco out there and their Cigar comes in second.

Have you seen this thread? http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/353176-my-bobas-clone.html There are more recipes than the first one.
There are a couple tobaccos I like at the moment but I haven't had any of the juices you mentioned. Hangen RY1, the Japanese (china) from RTS, Black Honey Tobacco (tfa) but for me it's got to be mixed with something else and toned down or it's too in your face with the honey. I'm not sure how I feel about Tobacco Absolute yet.
I just got a few yesterday from VZ and they smell awesome. I need to mix some. The ones I didn't like were from FA. Burley and something else. To be fair, I opened the bottle, smelled, and then closed the bottle. They were super acrid to me so I knew I wouldn't ever like them.

Is there a high chance that the NET flavors have the grassy/hay quality? Many of the premade NET juices I've tried have that flavor and that is a deal breaker for me.

I can't really say as I haven't tried them. The site is new to me as of yesterday. You might search ECF with some of the flavoring names for possible reviews and comments. Please share with us what you find that you like.

I can relate to trying to find a good tobacco flavor to DIY and hope this helps.

As a smoker of around 30 years I was mainly into Camels or a good rich pipe tobacco. When I finally found e-cigs I just new if I could find the right flavor I could finally quit after many years of failed attempts.

Now as we all (should know) flavor is very subjective, so what works for me as an all day vape may taste like horse turds to you, take that in to account when acting on any recommendation please.

What finally gave me what I needed, a close to tobacco flavor with just a slight sweet aftertaste was DK Tobacco flavoring (The Flavor Apprentice) at about 10% in a 50/50 pg/vg mix on an eGo-T tank system (very good starter rig).

Got it here with a great deal on a DIY starter kit.
The Flavor Apprentice Professional Flavors - One Stop DIY Shop Store

After 2 years I'm still off the analogs and still mixing up my DK Tobacco as a daily vape, just a lower nic level now.

One piece of advice, my mix takes about 2 weeks to properly steep if you want the full flavor.

It was also mentioned that some of the new flavors smelled acrid when they arrived, might I suggest letting them sit in a cool dark place for a few weeks and then be given a second chance.

Just my thoughts and experiences, good luck to you on the flavor hunt. :)

I like RY4 from TPA, steep time is required. Initially it is a little floraly but steeping gets rid of this, at least for me.
Double RY4 is even better. I can vape it immediately and love it or let it steep and love that as well. It has a more rich taste as it steeps and the flavor changes completely.
Tobacco Absolute (very strong) is good but also requires steeping up to a month.
Black Honey and Captain Black from Wizard labs are nice additives.
DK555 is nice but horrible at first. Requires up to a month steep time.
Flue Cured and American Red are decent, can be strong. Even with no nicotine, I get a decent throat hit.

I also heard Flavour Art has good tobacco flavors. I will be getting the Black cigar (Black and Mild) very shortly.
