So I have both a TOBH and TOBH 26650 built using the same 26 gauge Kanthal wound to 0.61ohms. I have about the same amount of cotton in each, a little more in the well of the 26650 because it's larger.

I get get a much better vape, flavor and vapor from the standard TOBH over the 26650 version at 30w. It it maybe due to the smaller chamber on the regular model?

just looking for clues. Thanks!

IMO you need a mech and a low ohm coil to push the 26650 to a level close to the regular version but yeah the regular version is better overall for flavor.

agreed!

My 5/6 wrap coils give me .45 ohms. thats still not as good flavor wise than the 22mm with a .54 6/7wrap (24g)

I wish I could find a 2mm sleeve (like a big wedding ring) that I could slide into the chamber and have it rest on the tabs that block the air control. That would slightly reduce the chamber size and I bet it would increase the flavor as well.

I do love how easy the build is on the 28.5 atty for sure. Tolerances and machining is pretty impressive for tobeco. I can't wait for friday when I can stuff some cellucotton in that bad boy.

Yep, I'm running dual/parallel 28 gauge wire with dual coils at .28 ohms as I have been unable to get good flavor or vapor out of the 28.5 mm tobh in compairson to my stillare or 22mm tobh or other 18650 atty's... Kinda frustrating, I found building at .4 or .5 with the larger chamber just wasn't warm enough. So far this has been the best build I have tried to date on the 28mm Tobh. I also have a Hcigar 28mm atty with the 5 posts that I have built quads, duals, and a variety and still am not happy with the vape resulting from the larger atty.

Interestingly enough I was at Vapewarez grand opening in Buford and a guy there had a 26650 mod with a 22mm Atty that with a custom machine outer sleve that was 28mm on teh outside and 22 on the inside... so basically he had the perfect vape of a 22mm inside a 28mm diameter atty... Perfect.

Anyone try twisted coils, or flat ribbon wire or coils with max surface area to bring out more flavor? I'm kinda dissapointed love the idea of a 26650 big battery and the mod itself but hate putting a 19-22 mm atty on the hades, just doesn't look right.
