Just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you to all the great information and advice on this forum. I am a 20+ year pack a day smoker (minus a few long breaks) that never managed to stay off the damn things.
I received my first device a few days ago but planned on stopping analogs once I ran out of my current supply. After messing around with the PV I now now realize that I do not have to wait. This is beyond my expectations and while I still have the urge to lite one up (such a physical habit!) this is going to satisfy me completely it seems. Over the past two days I was so amazed I could not put this thing down. I think I inhaled enough PG that I will not freeze this winter! Hopefully once the novelty wears off I will enjoy this hobby more rationally. Anyway,

Today is the day I (attempt to) never touch an analog again!! Wish me luck. Thanks again.

Welcome metasin! Good luck on day 1 :)

What kind of PV did you are you using?

I purchased a KD808d-1 (is that right? Still getting used to all the model names). I tried a BLU that somebody had and thought it was OK, enough for me to consider switching to vaping but I did not feel it. This is waaay better. My problem now is I want to buy every flavor that I see. So many choices.

When I started to vape, I had about a half a pack of smokes left. Tried like hell to stay away from them but couldn't. Figured I could possibly do both for a while. By the time the rest of the analogs were gone it was easy for me not to buy any more. Been strictly vaping since. Didn't take long and so glad to be carcinogen free. Good luck Metasin. You will do it.

Wishing you luck!!!:vapor: Remember IF you do light a cigarette it is NOT the end of the world. Actually I think lighting a few that first week helped me as I hated the taste so when I wanted one I just remembered how horrible they tasted and it helped me avoid lighting another one!:)

As far as the novelty wearing off and this becoming a more rational hobby, we'll leave the answer to that up to you to find out for yourself!! Let see if I can give you a clue as to what's gonna happen; mail lady delivered two packages on Wed and should be delivering one today. If what I ordered last night ships out today there will be two more delivered on Monday!!! :p

Congrats! As stated don't get frustrated if you do find yourself having an analog. To be honest I still get the occasional urge(but once I smell someone who's just had one it's over) ;) I like you had been smoking over 20+ years and still get the craving when around someone who just lit up (that smell for some reason I like) but it soon passes. Now for the info you need: over the next few days/weeks your going to get that coughing/ lung hurting feeling-even makes vaping hard at times. It's perfectly normal and some have a harder time than others. I think the key here is not to have an analog as it will set you back and take longer to get all that crap out of your lungs. You'll notice the benefits soon enough and soon be spending some of that ear marked analog cash on Juice and some other gear. It should taper off once you find your favorites and that preferred PV device (mine is the eGO 900 mah) The mods still intrigue me and maybe after the holidays I get one. Good luck and keep us posted- or if you need advice or help!
