I've decided to try and go without the stinkies for a whole day. I had one yesterday, so I should be able to do this. I've been slowly cutting back over the past two weeks, but today is the day. This will be a huge step in my life and I'm very excited to be vaping instead of smoking. And luckily for me, I have a friend who's very helpful and has been pointing me in the right directions (he let me borrow his Vamo for this important day!) so I'm getting there. To be honest, I couldn't stand the taste of the analog I smoked yesterday, so this is a good thing. So, here's to hoping that today is in fact the day. I'm ready to quit stinking.

Thank you all for the encouraging words. I'm glad to know I've got a solid, supportive community to turn to. You guys are awesome. So far, so good today. I don't even really feel like I want an analog. After smoking every day for 10+ years, to go even this far into the day without wanting a death stick, is huge. This is a great thing and a great day. Thank you all again for the supportive words.

Welcome to ECF and Congrats on you journey into vaping!!!!:2cool:

Just a reminder:
1. Drink plenty of water! (kinda a no brainer seeing you're from Az, LOL!)
2. Know your analog routine: keep your vape gear close to the phone, TV, when you drink coffee, in your vehicle, ANY PLACE you'd usually light up. (hide any analogs in your trunk!)
3. If the vape isn't cutting it, go a higher mg in nic.
4. When the craving hits, VAPE!
5. If you can have 2 or more different juices so you can switch it up, you'' forego any boredom".
6. Hit a local Vape store, I KNOW they've got them down there, and test out some juices and other gear (Be prepared to walk away with something!)

If you skip a groove and hit an analog, DON'T beat yourself up! You're going to go at your speed, don't compare yourself to what others have done. Everyone is different!

There's lots of peeps showing up from Arizona in the last month and a Vape group down in Phoenix. I'm North of Prescott, so not close enough to check it out. :glare:

Again, Welcome, and any questions, ask away! We're a pretty cool bunch of kids!:headbang:

YOU CAN DOOOO IT! Cool avatar pic i almost chose that one :p the fallout world is awesome.

Im 4 days stinky free and i have some cravings from time to time but i vaped through em and honestly it wasn't bad at all.

One thing i have figured out is dont get caught with a dead battery...waiting on one to charge up was killer! :D

I did same as you, weaned myself down. When I had several days where I just had one, in the morning, I decided I would cut that "one" out, i liked vaping better anyway. It's now 2-3 weeks (it's on my calendar but I am not YET saying it's my "quit day" since I know a lot of people slip up in the beginning and end up "trying one"). It gets easier each day, especially if you've decided--like you have--that vaping is more fun and tastes better. Good luck! Hold strong!

Congratulations, your almost there.
Major respect to your friend, dare I say, Bro-love!

Quitting the stinky's have given me a new lease on life, it really is life changing.

The folks on this site are my primary support group. Including those who post their successes and miss-steps.
The encouragement from this community is the second best thing, heck... more like ECF complements my intimate family!

CONGRATS!

I decided to pull the plug on this in July. 20 years of smoking and I was done with it.

It took me about 2 weeks to go a whole day deathstick free. a couple weeks on a single pack of smokes was an awesome experience.

I have had exactly 1 stinky in the past month! Just a bad day and I dug one out and sparked it up. I made it through lighting, 1 drag, and then almost gagged, I tried another one and suddenly lost the urge entirely. I put it out and wandered back inside the house to vape a bit!.

The advice that has helped me the most.

1) Don't follow the same habits, if you went one place to smoke, don't go there to vape, it breaks the habit chain.

2) If you need to hit a cig, go ahead, you are trying to re-train yourself after 10 years of training yourself to smoke. Don't beat yourself up just keep trying to avoid the old habits.

3) if you had a place you *ALWAYS* smoked, refuse to smoke there anymore, just vape (car, after meals, whatever the hard one is to give up you will figure it out)

4) Have someone to support you, sounds like you got a buddy doing this, if you are having a bad moment take a minute to call him/her while vaping, talk it out. Getting something else on your mind helps... more than I thought it ever would.

Best of luck to ya, I hit one of the sig things just to see what it would look like.

Wow, kind of huge... granted I think I have spent that much on gear already... but I have everything I want except juice...

Man, the response I'm getting. I'm just blown away. Thank you all so much for your advice! I'm going to take it all to heart. I still feel really good. I had a little urge to go outside and light up, but I grabbed my PV and vaped through it. This is seriously the best forum I've ever been to. All your words are so kind. I'm sure this is still going to be a struggle, but it'll be made easier with somewhere to turn.
