So today is one and a half months analog free!!! I can't freaking' believe I did that.. Really. It's amazing. I started out (and still use) a 510, all stock and I like to drip. I feel like there are certain things I don't like about it so far and things I do, so let me inform you.

I like dripping, and I like how convenient the 510 is to do so. I also like how cheap the parts are (attys and things) I like vaping light, fruity flavours the majority of the time and sometimes use darker flavors such as cuppacino or chocolate when the mood strikes (and I use attys dedicated to these darker flavors..) I like myself an 80/20 mix of PG/VG though, i haven't experimented with anything other than that and 70/30. I like both, though in the 510 70/30 just doesn't have the vapor i'm looking for. Dunno, maybe it's the 510's fault? I can't help but feel there are better options for a vapor who is looking to put the 510 as his first backup.

Things I want:
-better and MORE FLAVOR! this is a big one!
-better battery life
-cooler vape
-more consistent hits, more vapor!
- no metallic aftertaste
- i'm in an office most of the day. I can't have a huge pv sticking out of the pocket, so something relatively small (not 510 small) would be good, though not a deal breaker.
-something with a variable resistance? I've been reading about this and don't quite understand it. but the more options the better, right? It might help tune the flavors I like and have the ability to tune the darker ones when i smoke on those as well. I plan on keeping this one for a long long time, so best be prepared for anything right?

So, again, there are so so many choices out there. I just wanna hear from the veterans what YOU would buy if you did it all over again. Thanks so much guys! :p

Take a good look at the Provape Provari. Variable voltage so you can tune the output to get the best flavour from whatever juice you are using. Regulated output so the last hit from the battery is exactly the same as the first, giving totally consistent vapes. Two battery options giving long run times.

There really is nothing better in my humble opinion.

I've been vaping about 2 weeks longer than you and i'm ready for something new and better myself. I decided to start with an Ego passthru, couple of attys and some carts, but i'm not getting the th or vapor that's warm enough for me. I've been looking at the rough stack(maxi) for the simple reason that I can vape 3 different voltages with a $45 mod that looks to be very "noob" friendly...just my 2c

I'm going on day 5 of being analog free - for the second time. I started out with a KR808 from V4L which was fine...but just didn't do it for me. I put the ecig down for almost a year and decided to give this another shot. I went with the Echo....it really has changed everything for me. The battery life is outstanding and I get more vape than I ever did with my other system. Plus - I love the fact that the auto battery is so responsive. I was a little leary at first but this thing actually works! Congratulations for being one and a half months away from analogs...I hope to get there too!

Hi. Analog free for nearly one year and five months here (on the 4th of July).
I've tried a ton of things over the last year and a half and the bestest, cleanest tastingest, cloud producingest setup I've found is a variable voltage mod fine tuned to a CE2 tank mod. Nothing small or stealthy about this combo but the performance is pretty amazing.

I realize that this kind of thing is probably way more than you're interested in at this point and may raise an eyebrow or two at your place of employment but I wanted to give an example of the lengths some of us go to for that perfect vape. If you are interested in variable voltage (the ability to control the heat and flavor) in a more sleek and stylish form wait about a month for the Infinity Pro from NotCigs to come out. Here's a link to the original Infinity which is sold out but the Pro will look the same and boasts twice the battery run time. http://www.notcigs.com/products/BLEMISHED--Infinity-∞-Kit-with-Batteries-and-Charger.html

Ooh, I do really like that. I would get a provari and be done forever, but I feel like it may be real heavy and bulky. I like that the 510 can fit in my pocket and be unnoticed until I need it, but I simply want a better vaping experience. I might have to do the 'stack until I can make up my mind!

The Infinity is much lighter and smaller in diameter than the ProVari. It doesn't have a digital read out on it but you can find screw on voltage meters like this one Assembled Volt Indicator pretty easy.
I've checked out other people's ProVaris and I was kinda surprised at the size and weight. Good PV though.

I second the roughstack! I use the mini every single day. It's a step-up dream device and the price is perfect. For your first foray into mods, it's perfect.

Since you seem to prefer dripping, I'd recommend a bottom feeder. The Reo's are awesome, but some people are a bit reserved about dropping $140 for something they may or may not like. The Boge Revolution v2(.1)'s are out now and can be picked up pretty cheap. I've seen them for $50. I ordered one and really dig it! The also can be used as a passthrough device. A perfect started bottom feeder.

The Provari for variable voltage. There are a TON of vv mods out there, but imho, the Provari is perfect. It's a little big, especially by comparison to a standard 510 batt, but well worth it.

A Mini REO or Grand for you size request. Both work great but the Grand a little bigger will get you a bottomfeeder with a 6ml bottle of juice and a 18650 battery for all day use. They are not often up for sale but will be ready on thursday the 30th 7 pm eastern time. reosmods.com First come first serve and they go fast.

eventually, i want two. one really nice classy box bottom feeder for home use,(monkeyboxx?) and one almost indestructable pv for going out on the town and taking to work. Cant have the latter be intrusively large and should be one i can drop or abuse a little. If I spring for a Provari, i worry I would simply worry too much about it's prettiness instead of how functional it is.

I'm gonna go with the 'stack for now and see where that takes me. Only gripe is lack of voltage options, but at that price point i guess one can't complain. I also said I wanted a cooler, more tasty vape so 6v likely wouldn't be great for me anyhow..

The Rough Stack short body can provide 3.0 and 3.7v vaping. The Maxi rough Stack offers 3.7, 5.0, 6.0, and 7.4 through different battery configurations. You can by the maxi tube separately without an end cap. So, if you get the short one and decide later you want more voltage options, you can buy the maxi tube for twenty bucks by itself. Then it's just a matter of deciding which rough stack you are going to put the end cap on for the day ;)

I'm pretty much in the same situation as you.. been using a PV now for close to a month.. been rocking the Joyetech 510 (Which has worked wonderfully, mind you)

I ended up buying an eGo passthrough battery... the battery ended up getting 120f without even being in use/anything screwed in.. and stayed that way until I assume it ran out of energy. It's getting shipped back soon...

So what did I do? I decided to go with the E-Power. I figured it was the perfect compromise between price/function. The starter kit was relatively inexpensive ($45) and it has user-replaceable batteries and a modular design. It vapes at a solid 3.7v under load until the battery needs to be charged (510 and eGo devices usually vape at around 3.2v) but this unit delivers a solid 3.7 under load the entire time (keeps it consistent)

There's much better mods, but this device seemed to be the perfect fit for what i was looking for.. and cheap too

I was in the same boat as you, started with 808D and 510 kits. Didn't like swapping and charging batteries all the time. Next I bought an E-Power kit for $45. Still at 3.7v but much longer batt life got a bunch of different cartos and attys too (ce2, mega, dual coils, LR...) Found some worked better with certain juices and others worked better with other juices. Everybody talking about higher voltages got me real curious so I built a little Puck mod that is 4.8v Again some combos worked better and some I liked better at 3.7v Lots of combos possible. A bunch of attys with different resistances will simulate different voltages and give you good idea of which route is best for you. Some of my preferences are: Ikenvape LR attys at 3.7v, 1.5 Dual Coil Cartos at 4.8v and lower ohm ce2s at 3.7v and higher ones at 4.8v. The ce2's I had to do syringe mods on to replace the fragile clear tubes but they are great now and it was easy to do, only tool needed is a box knife.

Thank you! It's good to see I'm not alone having issues choosing a mod ;p what are my VV options? I simply just don't know that much but rather be thrust into it so I can learn rather than spend more over the long haul.. Maybe a box wouldn't be so bad..

There are several to choose from Pavari and the GLV2 is a couple I hear mentioned alot (best to verify Im not into VVs) but other mods can variable voltage by different battery configurations so you choices are endless. Just read and do your homework. Find what you like and buy it! :)
