Yep will be like that poldiac joke. looks like it but nowhere near the same. they arent going to waste the time to engineer the buttons the same way as the poldi or roller(which is what makes it famous).

the roller is my all time fav mech

You act like its impossible to clone a button. It can be done. Its a battery tube with a switch there is really very little engineering that can be done.

Why would you wait for a clone? You can buy a Roller. I heart the ever-loving poop out of mine. It's probably my favorite mod. I use my 2 GP Paps more than it only because I don't want to put a blemish on my Roller.
Cause its $150 for a battery tube. I played paintball professionally and went to a u.s manufacturer of paintball guns and they made some for $135 and they have 100 times more stuff going on inside then a mech mod but the mech mod cost more.

no i dont act like, it is experience that so far china has not cloned the actual switches on the more popular mods, they do not work the same, they do not have the same parts, fact. sorry but its been proven. there is a lot of parts and precision assembly going on and so far they have shown no interest other then making them look the same. and looking at that picture that is in no way a roller type assembly.

Im not trying to argue with you but when you talk about things like voltage drop electrical contact and such in a mechanical - a switch isnt just a switch.

Im not saying it wont be an ok mod, but i will bet just about anything it will not have the switch that made the roller famous.

Clones seem to be getting "better". I guess machining the tubes etc really doesn't take much work and setup, I just wish some of the work went to some things more "original". I bet they could make some awesome mods with a bit of innovation.

That's the clencher for China, innovation...

Seem like the alibab link is a pic of an authentic Roller, which has been common practice for clones. The ol bait and switch.

I guess we will just have to wait. My guess is, it will probably be a good mod for the money but worlds different from an actual Roller.

Subscribed. Let me know how this goes. I have also seen the parallel with PB and I'm interested on your take of the clone.

So you used to shoot ropes and now you vape clouds? :p

Not gonna happen.

China could clone the Roller or Poldi 1:1, but not for that price point. Mark my words, Mechanical Engineer here BTW (if we are gonna drop that lol); The Poldi clone was released in a similar fashion, with a Photoshopped picture of an authentic mod and when it hit the market it looked nothing like a Poldi. They chose not to tackle a 1:1 Poldi switch, which is a lot more of an elegant design(IMO), and simpler. And for the 35 - 40 dollar price point I don't blame them. It will be the same story with the Roller, Photoshopped pic -> cost saving work arounds upon release.

Still, probably a good mod for the money.
