Does anyone else have the experience of your tongue getting sensitive? When I look at it, there's like a smooth area developing in the middle, where I imagine the vap hits. For the last few days, I've not use the two models that are cigarette-like with the cartos, and it seems those two have a bigger effect. But I don't quite understand why that would be, since I refil the cartridges with the same juice I use in the clearomizer models. Advice?

There are a lot of different reasons for your tongue sensitivity from what is considered "normal" to "allergic reactions" and so on; however I listened & learned here and ignored my condition far too long. I have mouth shingles, VERY painful! If it continues or becomes worse I would advise you see your doctor or dentist ... pronto!

Wow, is that from vaping, or is it actually the viral kind?

Viral not vaping, however vaping does add some moisture & warmth so if you are so inclinded I could see how it might start it up. If you've had chicken pox the virus is there just waiting it's opportunity. Also, I'm in my 50's so that's an added factor, shingles tends to pop up then if it's going to.

Yup, me too. My mother got shingles. And I sure don't want to have that experience.

I've been vaping daily for over a month now. Within the first 5 days, my tongue started getting irritated. I was hoping it would pass, but sadly it hasn't. Some days are worse than others.

I get this slimy film on my tongue from vaping, and I have to brush my tongue twice a day now, and use mouthwash twice a day now (I was only using it once a day before vaping).

Vaping definitely irritates my tongue. Not sure if it is the vaper, the PG, or what. Haven't noticed a difference when switching from 100% PG to 50/50.

Ummm, a month?!? I'ld see your doctor or dentist to rule out other factors if I were you and brushing your tongue & using too much mouthwash may aggrevate your problem :(

Lol, I'm not one of those hypocondriacs who need to go to the doctor for every bump, lump, or sore they get. Humans are far more resistant than we get credit for :) So long as we exercise well, and eat properly!

Vaping just irritates my tongue. Nothing a doctor can do about that. Also, I will try switching to higher VG as time goes on, to see if that helps.

P.S. - I also don't need a doctor to help me use the process of elimination :) I know it is directly related to vaping. It started right when I started vaping.....and the days I vape heavier, its a tad worse.

If I don't vape for 2 days or so, the problem goes away.

It isn't a serious issue. The vaping irritates my taste buds, causing them to become slighly inflamed. For the most part, as long as I drink lots of fluids, and don't vape heavily, I'm pretty much fine.

My tongue has been real sore lately, but I'm on antibiotics and prednisone so I think my problem might by oral thrush. :( I don't see too much white stuff on my tongue like you see in the google image search, so I'm not sure.

Maybe the anti-biotics is keeping it at bay? The "thrush"; let's hope so anyway :)

In at nutshell, buy a bottle of 100% VG Organic Liquid from Virgin Vapers and see if it goes away.

I had a problem with mouth irritation and it went away switching to 100% VG wasn't enough.
Turns out that the artificial flavors were contributing to the problem too.

Once I went Organic, mouth irritation went away.

Prednisone or antibiotics can cause thrush. Both together almost guarantees a case of thrush. Anytime I'm on either or both, I ask for a script for flucozanole. The tongue does not have to look like the pics you found, as they seem to always use the worst cases. If it's sore, and seems to burn a bit, from certain foods, then you have thrush. I'm fighting it right now, for the umpteenth time. It's a nuisance more than anything. Something you can try is gentian violet. Check some local pharmacies, no script needed. Doesn't work for me, but makes the tongue a nice purple.

Such a rough way to start off vaping! :(

I had a friend who was sensitive to some of the flavoring agents. A few liquids she could vape fine, most not. Most caused her tongue to get sore or even raw and sometimes a liquid would cause it to start to swell up.

She had to use process of elimination (along with many a day of discomfort with a new liquid and $$$ spent on bottles that she practically gave away on the classifieds) to figure it out liquids she could vape and it took a long time to just find liquids she could vape. She never did identify exactly what it was.

Some of the (common flavoring) ingredients and normal components in e-liquid you would find could be:

Tobacco essencial, tobacco leaf oil, Nicotine (from tobacco leaf), Trimethylpyrazine, Tetramethylpyrazine, Dimethylpyrazine, Acetypyrazine, Methyl butyric acid, Terp ineol, Ethyl maltol, Guaiacol, Acetyl pyridine, Octalactone (gamma), Pure water, Propylene Glycol, Glycerol (from a lab list of Totally Wicked ESmoking Liquid)

Any of the above could potentially cause a reaction.

One way to try to figure out if it's a flavoring agent is to vape only PG in a new/clean atomizer/tank/carto. Then try VG. If those don't bother you, introduce the nicotine into either one. If you can vape those without discomfort, then it definitely is a flavoring ingredient and you'll have to stick with sample bottles until you can find one that you can vape or DIY your own so you know what is in it.

Good luck (and keep us updated!).
