Hi! My name is newb, nice to meet u. Er.. thread u. W/e

Typing some of these questions into search returns a million threads, most arent even related. Figured it'd be easier/faster to ask them here all at once. Shall we begin?

I just did my first order and there were a plethora of various options/combinations for choices. I've been advised to order many flavors from many different vendors.

~How will I know if I like PG better than VG, or vice versa? Would I have to order the juice *exactly* the same in every way, only a different PG/VG ratio?
~Does nic content change the flavor or alter anything abt the PG/VG?
~How will I know if the nic content is off? Also, does nic content have any altering affects on the liquid itself or the flavor of it, etc?
~When asked if I would like to add any details/requests, what are my options there?
~I've seen a site that offers the ability to "cool" the flavor (adding menthol) but how is that different from just getting that flavor and adding a menthol flavor to it?
~Will I know if I want an extra shot of flavor if the liquid doesn't taste very strong?
~How will I know if I'll need to steep my juice or how long to steep it? Do certain companies/flavors/ingredients have certain times that work best? And how will I know if its *done* steeping? I'm guessing it might be a LOT of trial and error.
~Loading juice into a clearomizer needs a syringe, or can I just pour it in? Anything else I should know abt putting juice in?
~Why cant u use a *regular* syringe?
~Do I need several clearomizers for various flavors? I know u can rinse them, what different ways can I rinse them out (techniques or cleaning solutions)?
~Can I mix them? Can I mix brands (like alienvapors + mtbakers)? Ppl have told me I should get "menthol flavoring" to add to tobacco liquids for a menthol taste specific to my needs, do they mean menthol e-liquid or are there additives u can buy individually?

Thanks!

~Pg for more throat hit, vg for better vapor (possibly more flavor). Yes

~Nic will effect the throat hit, not so much the taste.

~Your body will tell you one way or another, you wont be able to just wack away on juice thats too strong, and too weak you'll never be satisfied.

~Probably used for specific color selections, special requests, specific sample requests etc, i assume.

~Same difference likely, menthol in liquid is menthol in liquid.

~That would make sense.

~I'd recommend reading the thread dedicated to whatever vendor you choose, most major vendors have a thread with tons of information about different juices/steep times etc.

~Its recommended unless you like washing each time you want to switch flavors. Water rinse, alcohol soak, water rinse, dry.

~Sure.
~You should be fine using your blunt tip liquid bottles as long as your careful, rarely used my needle tips aside from on carto-tanks.

~You can.

I like my juice on the sweet side so i change my PG/PV mix depending on the mix

~Does nic content change the flavor or alter anything abt the PG/VG?

Yes 18 to me is a perfect ballance. i do tend to keep most of my base flavors at 24 and then mix in 18mg flavoring

~How will I know if the nic content is off? Also, does nic content have any altering affects on the liquid itself or the flavor of it, etc?

you will start to taste the nicotine in most flavors above a 18mg

~Will I know if I want an extra shot of flavor if the liquid doesn't taste very strong?

or if you want a stronger "hint" of a specific flavor

~How will I know if I'll need to steep my juice or how long to steep it? Do certain companies/flavors/ingredients have certain times that work best?

varies from flavor to flavor longer it "steeps" the better it mixes

And how will I know if its *done* steeping? I'm guessing it might be a LOT of trial and error.

yes

~Loading juice into a clearomizer needs a syringe, or can I just pour it in? Anything else I should know abt putting juice in?

you can i use "needle bottles" there a dollar at my local store. i buy them empty and mix in them

~Why cant u use a *regular* syringe?

yep if you really want to take that long to fill your clearo

~Do I need several clearomizers for various flavors? I know u can rinse them, what different ways can I rinse them out (techniques or cleaning solutions)?

i have like 10 of various makes. i like to experiment

~Can I mix them? Can I mix brands (like alienvapors + mtbakers)?

yep

Ppl have told me I should get "menthol flavoring" to add to tobacco liquids for a menthol taste specific to my needs, do they mean menthol e-liquid or are there additives u can buy individually?

I hated the "tobacco" taste so sorry not much help here.

Replies in bold, try using Google to search it usually gives better results.

~How will I know if I like PG better than VG, or vice versa? Would I have to order the juice *exactly* the same in every way, only a different PG/VG ratio?
pg will give you good flavor, Vg will give more vapor but less flavor. Figure out which is more important to you or go 50/50

~Does nic content change the flavor or alter anything abt the PG/VG?
it will change the flavor slightly, shouldn't effect pg/vg from a vendor.

~How will I know if the nic content is off? Also, does nic content have any altering affects on the liquid itself or the flavor of it, etc?
Get a nicotine test kit, or just buy from trusted vendors.

~When asked if I would like to add any details/requests, what are my options there?
depends on who you order from, just request something if you feel the need, worst they can do is say no

~I've seen a site that offers the ability to "cool" the flavor (adding menthol) but how is that different from just getting that flavor and adding a menthol flavor to it?
they might be adding koolada which is slightly different than menthol, or they are just adding menthol.

~Will I know if I want an extra shot of flavor if the liquid doesn't taste very strong?
yes

~How will I know if I'll need to steep my juice or how long to steep it? Do certain companies/flavors/ingredients have certain times that work best? And how will I know if its *done* steeping? I'm guessing it might be a LOT of trial and error.
try them, if they taste bad steep, let them sit a week try again, it may never be good. Tobacco flavors need more steeping than others.

~Loading juice into a clearomizer needs a syringe, or can I just pour it in? Anything else I should know abt putting juice in?
depends on the clearomizer, don't get juice on the center post and wait for a few minutes so it can wick.

~Why cant u use a *regular* syringe?
you can, whatever works

~Do I need several clearomizers for various flavors? I know u can rinse them, what different ways can I rinse them out (techniques or cleaning solutions)?
you might want at least 2 in case the one breaks on you. Usually warm water works just fine for cleaning, if not try soaking in clear alcohol then rinse in water.

~Can I mix them? Can I mix brands (like alienvapors + mtbakers)? Ppl have told me I should get "menthol flavoring" to add to tobacco liquids for a menthol taste specific to my needs, do they mean menthol e-liquid or are there additives u can buy individually?
you can mix flavors, it might taste bad but you can. You can get menthol e-liquid or some menthol crystals

Thanks guys :) I have a waaay better grasp on all this, thanks to you. I now feel comfortable abt being able to setup and vape on my own here in a few days.

I do have one question though, if you need to steep your juices with your first order (lets say they ALL taste bad) what are you going to vape while waiting? Do you just ... pick the one that tastes the best and use that until the next is done, etc? I imagine there's a lot of timing/planning involved, eh?

Not to go off-topic, but did everything turn out okay with your CC and that vendor with your gear?

If it needs to steep, usually the highly chemical scent tells you it does (if your amaretto smells more like bleach and vodka) you can hurry it up by uncapping it overnight then, putting in in a warm, draft free place (someplace you would leave bread dough to rise) for anywhere form 24 hours to a week and, that usually improves it dramatically.

The rare times I do buy premixed that is not steeped, that's what I do with it. I have a local shop that sells steeped liquids for those flavors that need it. Tobacco flavors need the most steeping, liquor flavors next, fruit, candy and other stuff needs little to no steeping most of the time.
