Too high VG or coil size... What's killing my flavor so fast?

So a couple weeks ago I mixed up 60 ml of base @75%vg/5% water/20%pg

I mixed it down into 6 10ml vials (and another smaller batch with leftovers) with various flavors...
spearmint/cream de mint (not bad... wonderful shot chaser vapor)
Bubblegum (horrible by itself)
3 different strawberry recipes (not fond of any unfortunately and strawberry ripe was my largest bottle)
Blueberry Fu<k (my on little invention that I'm inthralled with and was appropriately named by my freind as you take a hit and just want to melt into whatever around you its so good)
Orange creamscicle (Just single flavor by TFA... its ok but nothing special)

Anyways... more to the point. I don't have my notebook with me nor did I research into the flavor bases (tthough I'll assume all are mixed in pg and not vg) but I'd guess total content is not more than 70% vg...

My coils are 2 × 2ohm (1 ohm resistance total) in a vertical setup And I vape at 13 - 16.5 w dependant on indoor/outdoor (cold out) and flavor used.

Problem is the flavors seem to lose their profile after about 1 - 1.5 ml vaped... (or at least the ones I left in tank that long did) It's not a horrid flavor, but my mint takes on a blander barely minty flavor... the blueberry f. (Blueberry wild, graham cracker, and a few creams again don't have notebook with me atm) takes on an almost carmelly flavor and loses the blueberry completely.. : /

My setup is wicking just fine, no dry hits, but again after 1 - 1.5 ml my vapor is greatly reduced no matter how long it is left (even overnight) The problem is corrected by a tear down, tossing the wicks (organic cotton) and cleaning coils in vodka (without cleaning coils the issue stays)

So I guess I know my coils are getting clogged up, but I'm unsure if it's due to my higher vg content or the fact my coils take so long to heat (due to size) maybe gunk buildup is faster? My currant setup is on a vamo so really cannot go much smaller on coil size unless I step down to single coil (for ohm limit)...

Guess I'm just wondering if any have experienced similar and can point me to working on juice content or plugging away back at coil building/different mod.

It's likely due to the sweetener content in the vapes (Coil killers) as I like to call them. If the mix is that good there's no way around it other then to reduce the flavoring, sweetener or just rebuild more often. It's a plight we all go through with sweet mixes. To bad there's no such thing as self cleaning coils:)

Do you dry burn your coils. That's really the only way to get the gunk off. With my sweet mixes I'm cleaning and dry burning every other day and my mixes are not nearly as sweet as yours. But my tobacco mixes that use no sweetener or sweet flavorings go 7 - 10 days between cleanings.

By all means do experiment with some different builds to see what you like best. My preference is a single close wrapped micro (1/16th) at around 1.1 ohm fired with a mech, but there's lots of good setups, and you just never know until you try.

I'd suggest poking around in the coil building thread for some good ideas.

For cleaning I soak in vodka, use a micro brush (for cleaning pc) on inside of coil, then heat to glowing a couple times.

And thanks for the tips guys... I will give single coil builds a shot and see if that helps. The flavor is just too good to mess with on that front so really hoping coils will be a fix (aand making a slightly higher pg mix as well but will need time for steeping to see if it worked or not)

How is your vapor/cloud production when you notice that the Flavor is diminished?

Perhaps it's a steeping issue. The flavors sit for awhile and come together changing their overall flavor profile. So if you vape them right after mixing, over the next few hours, days, weeks, months they will continue to change (slightly, some more than others, but they will change). It also could you the water you are adding to your mix. It is separating with your bases and/or flavors causing them to dilute? I am not sure, I don't use water in my mixes, but you do use such a low % that this likely isn't a cause. Just kinda spit balling some ideas.

I couldn't see how you could be gunking your coils THAT bad from the mixes you described. I don't think that is the culprit here.
