What kind of mouth problems arise from quitting cigs?
Thought that was all good?!?!
The cat is hilarious, I'm a dog person, might have to find a vaping pup.

You'll have to search for the threads. It has something to do with the theory that elements in cigarettes, other than nicotine, caused people with preexisting dental problems not to feel them as much. When they quit smoking they started feeling pain they hadn't before.

Pg is one of the liquids used in oral rinses for dry mouth, so I seriously doubt it. And vg is vegetable glycerine. There have been a number of threads about mouth problems arising not so much from vaping, but from quitting cigarettes.

Does that mean that PG is actually good for dry mouth. I would love that. May go PG 100%

It's the second ingredient in Biotene after water and it is also used in drops for dry eye syndrome.

ETA: For dry mouth Biotene is brilliant stuff. I don't think vaping pg would be helpful in relieving dry mouth, since vaping itself is dehydrating.

Had my latest dental check on Tuesday. My dentist informed me that my gums were very healthy (didn't mention my teeth so i assume they're ok ). I have angina which would normally mean that i would have poor gums.
I've also noticed after being 9 months cig free and vaping high VG juices that my tooth sensitivity has reduced.
I have found no documented evidence that vaping is good for oral hygene but i know that it works for me !

Well trust the dentist! But- I've seen PG on the label of mouthwash, toothpaste etc. It's also in asthma inhalers. VG is in sore throat medications amongst many other things.

My original dentist was thrilled that I stopped smoking and started vaping. My hygienist hates that I vape. My new dentist (old one left) isn't keen but thinks its better than smoking.

Oral hygiene problems can be seen more after you quit smoking as (I'm told- as the dentist!) that gum problems like gums bleeding are because the blood vessels are coming back therefore there's more blood. Seriously though, I don't think its to do with vaping. It's all to do with smoking, poor oral hygiene and the causal link between the two.x
