Top Reputable PV Brands for Beginners

Status

I have been using this site for a few days now and there is one thing that I think would be real helpful for the new people and should probably be a sticky.

Veterans, let us know what the top PV brands are.

I am not asking what is your favorite. There are so many choices out there that a list of the top ones would be really helpful. Then, new members could go and research each one to make a choice.

Basically, since you veterans have been doing this for a while; who better than you to list the top brands that have been around for a while, have good quality product, have built a reputation for themselves, etc.

I'm not sure this will answer your question because, it's not really brands it's models and a lot of sites put their own name on a model and sell it that way. However, I'll try.

Cigarette Sized

KR808D1 - Also sold as a vaporkings and Bloog maybe others. The Bloog Max Fusion is a suped up version that is considered the best but, it's a little pricier and availability can be an issue. Some people really love them though.

Joye 510 - Also sold as the Magma and Titan maybe others.

Sharpie Sized

Joye eGo - Also sold as tornado and volcano.

Riva - Haven't seen much rebranding of this one yet.

All are good, all have their fans and all have their shortcomings.

What I'm afraid you're asking about is things like the eGo-T/Mega/T Super B/Mega/Heaven knows what. You need to understand that the eGo is a battery. You get the same battery with all of the above. The T/Mega/T Super B/Heaven knows what is what comes with it to use the battery with. That's a dizzying and ever-changing array of stuff.

I'll add one more thing, if it has health or safety in the name, it's usually a rip off. Also, if the web site really wows you, run.

There is a e-cig suppliers forum. any vendor listed there is a reputable vendor. There is also a section with vendor forums. all these vendors are reputable. Even the veterans have not tried every single vendor out there so recommending one over the other would be moot IMO. Personally I've ordered products from about 20 different vendors. I've had good luck with all of them.

I can only tell you what I use. I'm only an expert on myself.

I started vaping for my Mom who had to quit. I joined her and accidently quit too.

Hers:

1. SmokeTip (kr808)
She thought she wanted something like a cig. She liked it and really this got her off the cigs
(although not completely). Great company, lifetime warranty on batteries. Good if you're a very light smoker.

2. Riva ego
liked it but wasn't ready

3. V4L (kr808) Likes it but goes back and forth between this and the Riva. She mostly uses the riva.

Me:

Joye ego with cartomizers from Liberty Flights. Still what I use and I'm really happy with it.

Hey guys just wanted to share my experience vaping so far.

I bought a bloog mini Pcc kit 8 days ago and haven't smoked since. I was at least a pack a day before, driving constantly and out late and often working in the music industry. I haven't tried eveything, but the goal was to quit smoking and so far I have.

People will argue incessantly over tiny details and their favorite models on here, but I have already set up some friends with these BMF's and my friends are all dropping smoking because of these bloogs.

I have the 78mm batteries with the mini Pcc thing, and I have had no trouble with anything. I was paranoid and bought all these car chargers, but really don't need any of it. I just swap batteries every couple hours, keep the pcc full batt, and always have one charging. I vape like I used to smoke, so I'm not constantly on it but it's always close. I started with 24mg to help crush my cravings and it still sometimes brings me from craving to headrush in a few good drags.

The cartomizers I have are the blank black maxx fusion ones and they're also great. I can stretch a full cargo easily for a day. I wanted the 808 because I was ok with paying for prefilled carto's. Then I found out you can't order nic properly in Canada lol.. That being said I still went ahead with the 2 piece automatic style. Now that I've been filling my own, this is all I have to say. EASY! If you can fill a zippo lighter, you can deal with filling cartos.

This post accidentally became huge, and I'm sick of typing now. Long story short, I've seen some amazing vape setups, and hope to expand my collection one day. As far as a tool to quit smoking goes, the mini PCC kit from bloog has been my saviour, it looks and smokes really nice, the PCC is kinda cheaply built, but really works like a charm, and the auto batteries with the MF cartos feel to me as close to a cigarete as I need. this is the kind of thing I could give to my mother, and she wouldn't feel like a crack head smoking it in public haha..

And yes its my first post, but no I don't work for anyone or have any involvement in this e cig stuff. I did all my research, watched all the YouTube reviews and picked this product. I'm up in Canada, I dealt with Jack at Happy Vaper, and he was great!

Joye 510 w/ manual batteries (short battery life of 180-mah or 1-3 hours, nice PCC available at NoSMokeVA.com)
Joye 510 w/ mega xl manual batteries (280mah so 60% more battery charge, 1-inch longer so 128mm w/ a cartomizer)
KR808D-1 manual (and see Vapor4Life.com for colors and prefilled cartomizers, standard battery is 280mah)

or for super long battery charge see the fat battery models Ego and Riva 510, and these can also use low resistance parts fro hotter drags - 650 to 1100mah

Manual batteries because manuals are less prone to being damaged by juice leaks. Autos have a drag sensor right inside the end of battery hole and the switch can be damaged or battery shorted out by getting even a small amount of juice in there. The 510 manuals are especially safe since their threaded end is totally sealed. Also, autos can sometimes turn on by accident from wind or vibration. And I think mnauls are less work - you can press the button in early and then start dragging whent here is already vapor made and drag as softly as you want.

My first good e-cig was the Joye 510, then a Joye eGo which I still have and use, and recently an e-power, which is a 510 mod. I recommend the e-power and duel coil cartomizers. It's well built and modular, so you can replace any part of it if you need to and the new duel coils provide good vapor with pretty much no singing. Search utube for smok tech for some videos on them. Hoosierecig and Madvapes have them, among others.

Despite my post count, I have been lurking and vaping for over six months. My recommendation is a big battery model with onboard usb charging. Being able to continue vaping the same battery while the unit is charging is a godsend. The Janty/Joye/Wicked Stick is decent, but I had issues with the button failing more and more often, plus the spring for the battery pushes up on the plastic top of the unit, and eventually it popped out and I had to glue it back in with Gorilla Glue (which worked fine, mind you, but it's still a design flaw).

My current preference is the eGo passthrough - amazing battery life, metal cap for the USB port, and it looks pretty cool to boot. And Cignot sells a starter kit with this model that is one of the cheaper starter kits out there (because it only has one battery, which is really all you need due to the USB port).

Some people will tell you that even beginners might as well start with a 5V (or more) PV, but I have had nothing but bad experiences with horrible burnt taste. Perhaps a higher resistance atty (or maybe a larger atty like an 801/302) would fix this, but I'm doing just fine on 3.7V.

Yeah there are a few but, not most. The OP didn't asked what I'd recommend. The OP asked what are considered the best. I'd recommend the e-power but, that's a 3.7 volt generic battery eGo lookalike.
