I use High VG, Sickly Sweet e-Liquids. And they tend to Gunk Up a coil/wick Very Quickly.

Something that I have found to prevent this Gunking and to Prolong the time between Dry Burns is to vape a Clearo nearly dry. Then Give the Clearo a Flush using Hot tap water.

The Clearo doesn't need to be fully dried out before refilling. Just Flush, Shake, Blow and Go.

The first couple of hits after doing a Flush will be Weak. But after that, the Clearo will be as good or Better than it was Before the Flush.

Also, I find that by Constantly topping off that I would get Thicker and Thicker e-liquid in my Clearo. Which leads to More Gunking and More Dry Hits.

This may be worse with people who use High VG and Very Sweet e-Liquids. But I think there is some amount of Thickening with Any e-Liquid.

Normally there's no good reason to make sure your clearo runs dry, unless it's time to dry burn it....however, you will notice that as you use it, the juice will darken over time. It does this for two reasons. 1st, juice reacts to sunlight and will just darken over time. This IMO, does not change the flavor of your juice. 2nd, What I call "backwash" is when juice is fed to the coil and then released back into the tank after you stop vaping. This will affect the flavor IME, and will only get worse over time. Myself, I usually will top off my tanks 3 or 4 times before I vape it down as far as I can, then clean the tank and coil.

As for the batteries you use? The button will flash when the level has reached a certain point, which I believe is 3.2volts? Some will go as low as 2.7, but I don't like that low a charge as that is almost to the point where damage can occur. Todays battery technology is different from old style NIMH where they had a battery memory. That is to say, that if you ran it down to a certain point several times and then charge it, it will keep the level for ever. Hard to explain, but it really doesn't matter any more anyways.

So I usually just top off my clearos when the juice is halfway down, is there any reason why I should be letting it go empty? Just wondering. Also I have 2 ego spinner/twist batts. I read that you should charge it when it is running low, instead of letting it completely die, is there a way to know if the batt is almost dead?

Ego batteries have a "cutoff" at a low voltage and will not allow you to drain them all the way down. Use them until they "self shutdown" and recharge. In my experience the battery button will blink five times when you try to fire it at low voltage and shut itself off. (the same way it blinks when you turn it off yourself).
