I'm pretty much a total newb when it comes to e-cigs. My friend bought me a Red Dragon starter kit about a year ago and I used it until the juice ran out on the carts I had. I never bought new ones or more juice and I switched back to analog.

I've been looking into buying some more/new e-cigs. I'm at a total loss as to what to get. What I liked about the Red Dragon's were that they were only two piece and had an automatic battery. The only reason I don't want to buy from them again is that they are rather expensive.

If anyone could give me some tips on what to look for/at I'd greatly appreciate it. I am willing to try almost anything. Price is obviously a factor for me, so I'd like to be able to get a kit for around 50USD. Other than price all I really want is ease of use. It doesn't really matter if it's two or three piece or if the battery is auto or not, I just don't want to have to REALLY think about it. I'd like for it to be as easy as buying an analog pack is.

Really thanks for any help that is offered; thanks for reading the wall of text as well.

Welcome flashthedash!! Here are a couple of suppliers that carry something similar to what you are requesting. Vapor King Premium E-Cig Kits and Cases - Vape On! and Kr808d-1 starter kit: kr808d-1 cartomizers, kr808d battery and more! Kr808d-1 kit from LiteCigUSA!. LiteCig has a decent kr808d-1 starter kit for $35. Vapor4Life has higher priced kits, but a wide selection of prefilled cartomizers.

edit: You can also pick up an eGo starter kit for $40 and free shipping at http://www.elitevaporworks.com/ego. They don't have much for e-liquid selection, but that's a great price for a really good e-cig starter kit.

welcome! browse around the 'new members' forum to see what others are using and what seems best/worst to use. there is definetly a learning curve to pv's (personal vaporizers) and i'm not sure it's ever as easy as pulling a cig out of a box and lighting it.
IMHO the gratification of vaping exceeds the 'extra work'.

The 2 piece models are call KR808d-1's (they are sometimes given other names like yeti-c AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Yeti-C - Cartomizer Starter Kit - The Yeti-C - Starter Kits or Red Dragon)
The cartomizers can be refilled or purchased already filled.
There is a vendor section at the bottom of the forum page that has many good vendors you can purchase from Forum Suppliers.
Also please check out the sticky section of the new members area.

Welcome to ECF and best of luck!

Hey Flash, welcome aboard!

If you were a regular smoker, I would forget about the kr808d1 models (the standard e-cig models that look like analogs etc) since they drain rather quickly, and before you know it you will be charging them all day. Look up eGo or Riva products, and if you enjoy cartomizers, purchase a 510-808 adapter to use with them.

Cheers

Welcome to ecf. You will find many good suggestions on this site. I personally would recommend the eGo since that is what I first found to be a good device. You will find there are other good products mentioned on ecf with their supporters. Whichever product you decide on, I wish you luck on your vaping adventure.

Manuals are recommended. Keep cartomizers damp with juice all the way through. Fill well to start (I usually hold a tissue on the threaded end) and let settle a bit. make sure the threaded end is dry, and I puff into the threaded end a few time to try to make sure the air channel is clear. Wheneevr the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry, try holding the ecig carto down for 5 seconds. If that doesn't fix the vapor then it needs some juice. Remove it from the battery, I hold a piece of tissue on the threaded end and add some juice - maybe 5-8 drops and if they soak in easily without leaking I will add some more. Clean and dry the threaded end, puff into the threaded end to clear the air channel, cap and vape. Keep a carto damp and it may work decently for days or even a week or longer. Once the performance drops some people toss them and some set them aside with plans to try to clean them when they have several. Run a carto dry and you could singe the stuffing and ruin it.

If you buy stuffing-type cartos buy soft-caps so you can just pop the end cap out and add juice. Some may have an inner donut shape seal you need to remove to add juice. The Vapor4Life ones do not and they are soft-caps. Lately I often use a plastic or delrin drip tip on the carto instead of the cap - not to drip in (since the juice would aim for the air channel) but a drip tip makes a nice easy-to-remove mouthpiece and will protect your lips from a hot carto. LiteCigUSA.net has some delrin and plastic ones for 501/901/KR808D-1. They also have Premium standard resistance KR808D-1 cartos which in the comments someone says are soft-caps.

thanks to everyone for the responses i've decided on a kr808d-1 kit as my choice, i think i'll get one with a manual battery. any way thanx again!!!

Great choice! You're going to love it. Make sure you stock up on cartomizers, especially if you aren't planning on refilling them yourself. Otherwise, stock up on e-liquid and some cartomizers to start out.

Each cartomizer is about equal to half a pack of smokes, so you can figure out how many you need to start. They can be refilled for about a week (if that's your plan) before they need to be tossed, depending on how much use they get of course. You can see video's on how to refill them at youtube.

Good luck! :)
