There are so many really good and very different e-cigs and suppliers these days. And you have received some good recommendations in this thread.
I do not recommend the ProVari (which you asked me about)* at this early stage of your vaping career. It is a wonderful PV, but far too complex for a fledgling vaper. For example, you said in your email: "i have no idea what any of that stuff means with changing the voltage ETC."
In my article, The Best Electronic Cigarette (for a First-Time Vaper), I recommend either of two types of models:

* FYI: It is not my practice to correspond via email with folks I do not yet know. PM when you are eligible. Until then, use this New Members forum (which, obviously, is effective) or Ask The Veterans.
In my article, The Best Electronic Cigarette (for a First-Time Vaper), I recommend either of two types of models:
- The Kr8 is perhaps the ideal model to start with ... and even continue with (I still use it, among others). Its two-piece design and availability of prefilled cartomizers makes it the simplest and most convenient to use. And, with the shorter 65mm length, automatic batteries, it provides the most analog (i.e., tobacco cigarette)-like experience. [NOTE: The implementation of the automatic batteries by the following two suppliers is flawless and better than most manual Kr8 batteries that I've used.]

IMO the best and most expensive is the Bloog MaxX Fusion. Their Mini PCC Kit is eighty bucks (and shipping charges are eight bucks): more than most Kr8 models, but not a rip off like that White Cloud thing ... and you seem willing and able to lay out some cash. I reviewed it here. The very similar Smokeless Image VOLT is less expensive: the batteries and PCC are virtually identical, but their cartomizers are not (yet) as good. With either kit, you'll want to order a couple additional five-packs of cartomizers.
- If you are open to something larger (but still not huge like the ProVari), one of the eGo-compatible fat batts is an excellent choice. [These have manual batteries, easy to use and well implemented in the fat batts.] Since most of the readily available cartomizers are not prefilled, you will need to fill them with e-liquid purchased separately (but often from the same supplier). [NOTE: You can also refill the Kr8 cartomizers with e-liquid (and most of us do to save money), you just don't have to.]

The best deal on an excellent fat batt is the 750 mAh Riva-510 from Liberty-Flights: $30 for the "LITE BUNDLE" (there is nothing "lite", i.e., missing, in this bundle); $35 for the "SPECIAL EDITION" (with slightly higher voltage batteries and lower resistance atomizers). I recommend supplementing your order with first-rate 510 cartomizers, such as the Boge 2.0 ohm (currently out of stock at Liberty-Flights, but available from many other suppliers, e.g., MadVapes.
A wonderful alternative to the Riva is the 1100 mAh true 3.7V KGO sold by Hoosier E-Cig Supply for $45. [I think it is gorgeous in chrome.] Supplement it with one of the other great 510 cartomizers: Smok Tech Dual Coil.
