Wife wants me to quit smoking, and I've tried. She took a new approach and bought me a couple of e-cigarettes based on a couple of her co-workers suggestions.

She bought a No 7 kit and a Smoking Everywhere kit.

She bought a spare atomizer for the No 7. Checking the site she used, the atomizers are a LOT higher in cost then prices quoted in these forums. I assume that's the difference in ordering from the "manufacturer" then someone else. Question is, what is the generic atomizer and/or battery used in the NO 7? My model looks like a regular cig, but a little longer.

Same question on the Smoking Everywhere. The battery says Smoking Everywhere Gold. Base unit came with the atomizer and cartridge in one unit. She bought me an atomizer that works with the unit, unfortunately with shipping she spent about $45 for one atomizer.

The two atomizers are not interchangable, they look different and are threaded differently.

How can I determine a source for lower cost atomizers and batteries?

Thanks,
Cliff

Still trying to get a better picture, but here is a link for what the atomizer looks for the No 7. They call it a Micro Atomizer.

SS Choice No. 7 Micro Atomizer - ECigarettesChoice.com

Below the picture of the NO 7 atomizer is a picture of the "Smoking Everywhere Gold 3.0 atomizer" That looks like atomizer I am using on the Smoking Everywhere Gold e-cig.

Hover over the picture and you can see the larger version.

Just trying to find better prices then 18.99/24.99.

Thanks.

Atomizer Compatibility List - E-Cigarette Wiki

Going by the list from that link, the micro looks like a 4081 while the gold looks like a 510. Is the small size important to you? If it is you might consider a full 510 kit as that can be less expensive than buying the parts separately. I'm thinking they'll interchange, but if not, you can pick up some more 510 kits when your other ones die. Apparently, lots of folks carry four or five of the small models on them when they are out and about because of the short battery life and they don't like the bigger batteries or dealing with a pcc. Just a thought. JD

Any recs on a good priced 510 kit? Who are the better retailers? Like I said earlier, I'm new and really didn't get to make the decision on what to buy. As long as I quit, my wife won't be hurt at all if I use the ones she bought or buy something else.

I would hold off on buying right now. Test the two you have out first. This will give you an idea on what to get next, to improve your own personal vaping experience. I think a majority of people get tired of charging the small batteries after awhile and go to a ego/ riva style PV for longer battery life. Some have to go to 5 volt vaping because the stock voltage just doent cut it for them. Some are happy as can be with the smaller batteries. You just dont know till you try it out for awhile. So thats my best advice , try out what you have first and then you will have a better idea of what you can get to match your own personal vaping style better.

Cliff,

I've been using the 510 for 2 months now and would like to mention something to you. I love my Joye 510. It got me off analogs and it made it EASY!

But the 510 batteries are a job. I have 5 Mega size batteries- the longer ones- and I change them every 2-2.5 hours of the day. They start out great and will go 4 hours when new but quickly nose dive to the 2 hour range within a week. I've spent $50 on the Joye 510 starter kit and $50 on 4 more 510 Mega batteries. I'm at $100 in Ecig parts and I get pretty darn annoyed having to change my batteries every 2 hours! I'm constantly nervous about not having enough batteries on me when I go somewhere for the day:( They take 3-4 hours of charging time too which adds to my stress. I love the 510 looks- the slim, sleek design- but life with the 510 battery is too darn hard.

Please bypass this 510 stage completely. Just go right to the eGo model or Riva model. You will get 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, a charger and 5 cartridges with those kits. Those batteries will last you from 6-12 hours a piece! Liberty Flights has eGo kits on sale for $39.99 and Riva kits on sale for $29.99 (They will be restocking the black Rivas today Abe said). Just click the 20% off banner in the upper left corner:

For what your wife paid for 1 atomizer, you can get a whole new kit with 2 complete Ecigs from Liberty Flights. And the attomizers are cheap there- like $7 or 8 bucks is all.
