have you considered selling the PCB as a kit? I'd love to play around with touch switches, but there's nothing off-the-shelf that's really use for my needs. Just the board, parts, and a datasheet. Let the buyer invest the sweat equity in assembly.

Oh I love this - I'm a PIC hobbyist myself and I had so many ideas come to mind when I saw this. Have you considered a low power pic for temp control profiles or even one you can turn on only if doing USB passthrough? With the popularity of USB passthroughs there isn't a concern over battery life and so much more can be done.
