Okay, so back in Feb/March time frame, I bought a vial of TPA Juicy Peach from Wizard Labs, and it was delightful. Like biting into a juicy peach, go figure. I really liked it.

I liked it so much, in fact, that I bought a 4 oz bottle of it. But now when I make juice using the exact recipe I was using before, it is horrible. I mean, it's the same stuff, TPA Juicy Peach flavoring, but it is just not the same as it was before.

Did they change the formula of the flavor concentrate or something?

Sorry I can't be more descript about how it changed... I mean, the peach flavor is kinda there still, along with the flavor of dirty wet sock... It's disgusting, and disappointing since I bought so much of it this time around...

It sure says juicy peach... And it sure smells like juicy peach

My original recipe was 10%... I'll try using it with less and see how that goes. Haven't tried it with any PGA yet, so I may try that too... Do you mix it in with the PGA first?

Thanks for the suggestion

Hmm... Silly question here... I know we let our juices steep to let the flavors blossom and mix together better...

Do the concentrates get better too?

I have had this sitting for a while without touching it cause it was so nasty, just haven't asked until now...

And it definitely smells better now than it used to. I'll try mixing up a batch and see what happens. Just afraid of it being horrible again. Would be a shame to waste my PG/VG on another bottle of funky wet sock

I usually put my flavor concentrate and PGA in first and then top it off with my nic base. (I premix my nic base and store 250ml bottles in my freezer). I save a ton of time doing it this way as I'm mixing for about 30 friends of mine. As far a flavor concentrates getting better, I think they do. I have noticed several flavors, vanilla bourbon as one example, that when first purchased was a light brown turn completely dark brown after about 2 months. While alcohol content in vanilla bourbon is the main culprit of this, the aging process does change the taste a bit also.

Ooh, wonder if the fact that its in LDPE plastic has anything to do with it. Triacetin is known to react with plastic and crack tanks. Ive been ordering my larger-quantities direct from TPA, and everything has come in glass.

I agree, I don't use plastic for anything anymore. All glass for PG, VG, Nic, and flavors. I transfer anything that comes to me in plastic bottles immediately to glass. Ive been know to call off work if I get a big order of nic come in just so I can get that stuff out of plastic as soon as possible...I wouldn't sleep at night if I didn't.. hehe

Here is the bottle...

Did you get it directly from TFA? I ask because there flavors usually come in glass bottles. If not you may have got a knock off or old stock, re-bottled who knows what flavor.

Anything over a certain size comes in plastic from TFA/TPA. I order the 4 oz pretty regularly and it's always come in plastic, never had a problem with it.

OP try mixing a small amount, maybe 5 ml, so you're not wasting a whole lot of base. I have noticed that some bottles come tasting a bit different, but with some time they end up tasting just like what I ordered before. Maybe they're newer batches.

I did order it direct from TPA, yes. And I haven't been shaking it. The first time I got it, it was in a small glass vial. I believe it was 10mL and that was from Wizard Labs

But the 4oz size came in this bottle, direct from TPA. Are they shipping in glass 4oz bottles now? I mean, it's been a while, is it worth the trouble to ask them if they will replace it? Clearly I haven't used very much, you know cause it's nasty... LoL

I guess I should be shaking it?

I thought the LDPE bottles were not prone to the effects of chemical reactions, which is why they are used for the shipment of some pretty caustic chemicals...

I can't say I remember it having an adverse reaction with my syringes either, but that may be due to my habits of adding flavor... I will draw up the flavor, put it immediately into my mixing flask, then flush it right away with distilled water... The flavor is never in contact with the syringe longer than 10-15 seconds.
