For now, would someone give an indication about the effect of steeping on RY4? Yes? How long?

What color is your finished RY4 juice?

I mix at 8% and it vapes very well right after a thorough mixing. Just checked mine that's aged ~1-2 weeks and it's still almost clear -- though I use glass bottles, Enjoy!

Okay... So we vape it at a risk and decide if it's worth the risk, right?

vaping, like smoking, it at your own risk. It's all about harm reduction, not elimination. The only true way to eliminate the potential for harm would be to not vape or smoke at all. While we're reducing the number of chemicals from over 4,000 to, normally, between 3 and 6, there's always the potential that something in the vape isn't going to be the 100% safest because we're just not "there" yet with studies.

That said, I vape Capella's Vanilla Custard pretty much daily. I don't much care for the flavor of the one from TPA because it just doesn't match up for me. Capella's has been said to have the one or all of the flavor elements we shouldn't be vaping, which is what gives it the flavor that it has, but that's only one quick test from one lab; no-one else has stepped up and done testing on the flavoring, so right now, their flavoring is really up in the air. Many many many vendors use Capella's including, last I recall, Grants Vanilla Custard, which is insanely popular and according to his website, it's been tested and nothing was found it in.

We use flavoring in such small percentages mixed with two relatively harmless chemicals, PG and VG, whereas tobacco companies use chemistry to alter the taste, potency and composition of all tobacco cigarettes (one way, via ammonia chemistry - which increases the nicotine thump/potency when smoking - so yeah, they use ammonia). Tobacco has diacetyl in it, when we smoked, we inhaled it. For some of us, that's been 10 years, for some that's been 40+ years, so I don't feel as if the low percentages that may or may not be in the flavors we use are of the biggest concern, but that's just my opinion - I'm not a lab tech, scientist, etc.

I thoroughly appreciate your reply. It makes perfect sense to me. There has to be a reasonable approach and the only way to have that is accept personal responsibility and be aware of KNOWN hazards. It's tough to keep track of the flavors that may have acetoin or that other one... Now I know.

For me: 44 years smoking. I'm not kidding myself. Vaping isn't going to restore my health but it may put off the freight train that's headed my way.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply and thanks to Paddymx for the link to the threat warning.

I will add that, even though I do vape some flavors that may or may not contain chemicals, such as acetoin or traces of diacetyl, I do feel much better than when I smoked. I have scoliosis, a curvature of the spine, which pushes my spine to the left at about 30 degrees in some areas. It's painful, much like any disease that affects the way you carry out your day. When I smoked, I felt more pain in my upper and lower back. I'd wake up in the morning and have to take something (over the counter - I refused to take prescriptions).

Since I started vaping, the only time I take medicine is when I have a migraine, and that's more so due to the fact that I work on a computer for 10-13 hours a day and don't wear glasses (which is being fixed - so hopefully no more migraines soon!).

I can't say this will work for everyone, or that it's 100% healthy, but its working for me.

I edited it to use blueberry wild. Didn't put it at first since everyone has a different favorite. ;)

Oooooo! I just received my RY4Double today! Let me know how you do with that one!

Tim

I suggest you try ecf member TC1's recipe called "Rwhy4"
tfa double ry4 10%
tfa bav cream 5%
tfa carmel candy 5%

But i added this to the above recipe...
tfa vanilla swirl 3%

Its good enough to start vaping almost right away day two, but fantastic after a week or more steeping.
Trust me it's an ADV worth making a big bottle right away.
I started out with a 30ml glass bottle, then made a 50 ml bottle before the first one was even done steeping.
Now that I have more flavoring on hand, I'm working on vaping the 50 with another 50 steeping...it's that good !

All right!! Thank you so much! It looks really good with all flavors I like.

Masterlock put up a recipe with vanilla custard. It's back maybe 10 posts. I tried it today and because everyone is different I'll have to back way off on the custard. I've read TFA vanilla custard can get "peppery" and that's what I got. Total black pepper. I'm only mentioning this in case it's not the custard but the RY4. I've never tasted an RY4 before. Again...not a recipe problem but a taste bud difference. It was 15% vanilla custard that works for the OP.

Thanks again!

Tim

So I looked through 60% of this thread and I was trying to find the info on the Google Drive link someone mentioned and cant seem to find anything. Can someone help out here?

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5rhNaN5v1yPZDM2Nm9TaEh0MEE&usp=sharing

ok...go to the link above
click the report you're looking for. for example TFA_Vendor's Recipes_02_02_14
a window will open up showing the pdf file. From there you can download the report by clicking the little download arrow on the lower right corner of the screen.
Once its downloaded, you can click the little X in the window which will close that pdf viewer and return you to the google drive where you can continue selecting more reports to download such as the table of contents for those recipes "TOC_TFA_Vendor's Recipes_02_02_14"

I hope you like it! It's good to vape right away, but definitely gets better with time.
Yeah, I'm guessing Butter Rum is not the same and I've never had it (as far as vaping goes lol) but who knows, could be good in it!

i get the page opened and even do the download to PDF, but when it comes up we get an index of recipes or seems like single flavors, with page numbers, but I don't see any text for the recipes or notes.

What you've got there is the "TOC". That is the companion to the TFA Recipes.

Edit: The TOC's are the ones with the blue box's on the first page, except TFA_Recipes_By_Votes_02_02_14 which has it as a cover page.
