hey i bought the cantaloupe flavor and it taste horrible, i let it steep for three days and it still sucks. anyone know how to make this taste good?

I use cantaloupe as an "undertone" flavor, mixes well with strawberry and pear. Haven't tried just making straight cantaloupe yet though...hope this helps!!!

I tried something with all three of those mixed.....didn't turn out well at all!!!

Seems to me the "melon" family are like additives, though I love honeydew and cantaloupe straight-fresh, cant imagine a vape of it would be good. But like I said, they mix well with more citric and acidic fruits.

I thought the same thing...until I mixed up a batch of TFA Honeydew Menthol (I know it sounds terrible...but it's actually amazing) that has quickly turned into an ADV for me. I'm making another 50ml this evening. The key is not overdoing it on either the honeydew or the menthol percentage wise, but having them both compliment each other.

For anyone interested, here's the recipe (creatively named Honeydew Menthol):

Honeydew (TFA): 10%
Koolada 10% (TFA): 2%
Menthol (TFA): 2%

It probably sounds awful, but I assure you if you like honeydew, as well as a bit of menthol/koolada, it's worth a try.

I think that the TFA menthol has been reported to be stronger and I couldn't get it from WL. Is there anyone who could mention some kind of ratio between WL 10% menthol and TFA menthol PG liquid so I can submit these recipes?

Yeah the LA peanut butter I actually ordered by mistake but it is a good addition. I will have to try my Angel Puke recipe without it for resubmission.

Man am I glad I posted this as .................... is down right now and I need to make up a batch of Mentholoco

Oh yeah the Double Choc is TFA Double Chocolate Dark

Thanks for the "Dark".

I always thought that the TFA Menthol was at 10% but I just checked their site and it doesn't say. Sorry but those recipes using the WL menthol won't be added until someone/you confirm or change to TFA Menthol. Looking forward to your post of the Angel Puke.

I mixed up something similar, but without the koolada. Reminds me of the melon mint chewing gum. I'll have to try it with the koolada next time!

I have been following this thread for awhile and enjoying the recipes.....I like to mix a bunch at a time in 8 or 10ml bottles, I cant vape them all in a hurry but most of these recipes don't stand the test of time, after a while I am left with bottles of juice that are dark in color and so much flavor they are un-vapable. Is this happening to anyone else? There seems to be a time sensitive sweet spot and if its missed its over.

Mine really never last that long. but I also cant taste certain flavors no matter the percentage or the time steeping.
Banana, peach, blackberry, cherry, creams, honey, chocolate, and a few others are always over powering, but at least I can taste them, unlike raspberry...
Oh how I wish I could make a delicious bluerazz that taste like the freeze-pop or jolly-rancher.

I find that there is too much emphasis over steeping.... I think .....with the exception of a few complex flavors such as Custard and tobaccos that steeping is the last thing Needed. I would say 90% of my juices need no steeping or none after 2 to 3 days.

I too find that many juices can go bad at a months time or more. I dont find that true with most fruits. They have a great shelf life. .... and yes, I experienced what your saying with the Dragons tears.

The Keylime pie recipie in here (not the light) is soo good at first. Let it sit for a month and it gets a bit yucky (to me)

My Butter finger and Almond joy recipies in here are the same way.....with steeping near a month, some flavors come out that are just plain over powering and change the whole aspect of the taste derived the very first day.

After a while, I figured out which are which and mix as needed. I will make up 200 mls of Red Vs Blue and dont care if it sits 3 months in front of a window, but Keylime... I got to know that I will be vaping it that week.

Again, as we all say ..."taste is subjective" and I definately hear what your saying.

Havent had great success with cantaloupe, watermelon and honeydew, i have the same problem as u do, its not the best flavor from TFA

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I mix honeydew at 15% with x < 1% EM, pretty delicious imo. Didn't like the watermelon nor the cantaloupe though.

mixed this today, and straight away has pretty good flavor

I call it Crispy Georgia Pear

6% Apple
7% Peach
8% Pear

Nice one!

As I always do, I'll add some Koolada and Menthol to this. Been trying to think of another use for pear, and this sounds excellent. Cheers again, mate.

Sorry for the double post...

Completely agree with Thunderball re: steeping and timing. I actually just went through my little box o' juice (it's actually a replica version of a loot chest from Borderlands 2...yes, I'm a nerd) yesterday and took out 7 bottles of juice that I either ended up not liking so much, or they'd matured to the point of being awful. Regardless, the sweet spot for me tends to be anywhere between 5 days - 3 months. Before that it hasn't steeped long enough (IMO), and after that it loses it's elegance.

At the risk of repeating myself for like the 16th time, I would highly recommend getting a handheld milk frothier from Ikea or Amazon, and using that to blend your mix before bottling/steeping. Cuts the steeping time needed by about 75% or more in my experience, and it's like under $3. It's hands down the best tool in by DIY collection.
