Anyone know if the TR-001 charger stops charging after the battery is full, like a 18650 or 14500 or CR-123? Can it overcharge and hurt the battery life, or does it shut off the charge?
I've got a TR-001 and the lights are red when charging, then turn green when charged. I've left batt's on them overnight with no problem so I assume it quits charging when the batt's are fully recharged.
Thanks cskent, thats what I was wondering, sometimes I leave them on well past the green light coming on. I read at battery university that overcharging can hurt the LIon type batteries somewhere in a thread. maybe not the protected types with PCB's like AW 18650 or 16340's. I hope.
So Tybin, you think it will shorten the battery life? the TR-001 does not sut off? Sometimes I put them in late aftert they drain and get them in hte morning, and now I should just wait until I am home and can get them in 2-hours, right?
no, i think it's a matter of safety. I'm pretty sure i've seen big warnings about leaving protected batteries unattended. Even, if it has an automatic shut off, i think things can always run the risk of not working the way you expect it too. There are quite a few posts on ecf that warn about really respecting these batteries. I'll try and find a link for ya...
