Hello, Im Tritt but my internet friends call me bunny. With the upcoming holidays im transitioning from a 7 year smoking habit to the e-cig world. I have several friends that vape and it seems like a really cool hobby as well as getting me off the cancer sticks.

Im getting the VAMO V5 kit from misthub It comes with (1) Protank 1 Clearomizer (2) 18350 800mAh batteries (not allowed to link you the kit..)
I have heard it's an all around good kit that i wont out grow for a while.
How do you all feel about this kit and tank?
Should i invest in better batteries?
What level nic juice should i start with? (Pack a day smoker)

Yes I started with a Vamo 5, then got a Vamo 6.
Spent a whole lot more money as the months went by on expensive mods
and mechanicals.
Got fed up today with how temperamental some of the blue-blooed expensive
stuff is, pulled out my trusty Vamo and it's like an old friend.
Yea get good batteries don't buy anything that contains the word "Fire" they are crap.
Purple efests are good.

The Protank that comes with that kit isn't great but it'll work. You need adjustable air flow & the air flow is really tight on that tank. The Aerotank, V2 & Mega, all Kangers & have adj air flow, are about $20 on ebay & will give you a much better vape. Better batteries and a good charger are also important. Keep the Protank & pick up an inexpensive battery so you'll have a back-up.

i have flagged this post.
my reason?
if i want un asked for reviews of products there are other
sub forums where they should be posted in.
this is a new member forum not a i just signed up and
want to hype my gear forum.

I understand your reason but alas being a new member i thought i must make 5 posts in this section before i post anywhere else. I didn't want to make spammy posts just to get out of the new member section. I wasn't intentionally trying to hype my gear i just wanted to introduce myself and try to get a feel if i was getting off on the right foot with this purchase.

Edit: I see where i should have taken my questions. Thanks.

Welcome aboard Bunny. Sounds like a good kit. I use a V6 and love it. Not much difference between the V5 and V6. I have moved on to rebuildable atomizers which I highly recommend you do when you are ready. The difference in flavor is amazing. As for nic mg I wouldn't go higher than 12mg. Lower if you start building RDAs. You can ween yourself down as you feel ready. I'm down to 3mg and could probably go to 0mg most of the time but I just don't want to.

The RDAs absolutely fascinate me, I will hold off on them until i get down on the nic level. Thanks for the advice!

If you don't have the money when you first get it he could drill some holes out. I have a "Kangertech Mini-Pro Tank 2" The air flow was really tight so I drilled the holes with a 1/16 drillbit. You can hear the airflow is alot louder but it's much easier of a hit for me now.

Thanks for the tip! That is a very solid option when it arrives!

k,but when you hang here for a while its impossible to tell a genuine new
member from a shill.the reason for the five posts is to shield us longer
time members from endless product endorsements,or so i thought.
i could be wrong.just saying.
my word of thumb is,if it sounds like a product endorsement it is a
product endorsement.
hi all new here,is my great gear really great?
see what i am saying?

I see exactly what you're saying, My apologies on seeming like a product endorsement. I can assure you i'm here to stay and not some ruse.
The concern you have with that problem assures me that this a genuine community that looks out for their members. I again apologize for looking like an endorsement and hope that i haven't already tarnished my name on these forums.

to ecf Bunny. So glad that you are here. I hear lots of people starting off with a vamo. I vape a lot so I will just say a 18350 does not last me all day. May be just fine for you. Good luck to you and I look forward to reading more about you. Have fun and happy vaping to you.

Don't sweat it, Bunny... you've done nothing wrong. You were relegated to the new member's forum, and that is where you must post. There is nothing wrong with your choice of subject matter. This area of the forum usually gets a whole lot of "this is my new gear, what do you think?", or "I'm having problems with XYZ... HELP!"...

So, welcome to the forum, ignore the "you shoulda posted elsewhere", and keep on keepin' on! Congrats on your purchase, by the way. You've got a GREAT piece of starter gear there!!

It has been a while since I signed up, but isn't posting in the "New Members" section the only option? And there are a ton of questions regarding new gear people want opinions one, this one looked nothing like an advertisement. Lastly, the MODS do a good job keeping the riffraff out all by themselves.

Anyway, welcome Bunny, you are starting off better than I have seen others do, better equipment and such, so you are well on your way to kicking analogs to the curb. Good luck and keep us updated.

Welcome Bunny!

Regarding the batteries, there is a whole blog section by the user Baditude: E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs It's got some great basic information for people just getting started. You'll want to make sure you're using UNPROTECTED High-drain batteries. Since your Vamo probably won't fire below a 1Ω coil (and you won't be pulling more than 4 Amps on the battery), you'll have a few more choices in the 18650 or 18350s you use in your V5.

I have a V6, and I run mostly Protank 2s (with additional airflow controllers) and Nautiluses. You probably should invest in another device, merely as a backup.

Vape on :vapor:

edit: Juices - pack a day smokers go everywhere from 6mg - 24mg (0.6% - 2.4%) nic. You might get a few small bottles of different levels to see what works for you. I was o.k. starting around 6-10mg, and I've been holding in that range for about 9 months. Anything higher, and I get "nic sick". However, I have my vape in hand almost all day (lucky enough to be able to vape in my office.)

Some folks have needed WTA (whole tobacco alkaloids) to help kick the real cig habit. I personally don't care for tobacco-flavored juices, and wasn't one who's needed the WTA to get by.
