So I got my protege today and am loving it. I was trying to see if there was a convenient way for me to carry it around like I used to with my cigs (or actually still do, this is my second attempt at quiting with e-cigs) but I'm worried the button is gonna get pushed down in my pocket. So my question is, if I unscrew the atomizer and store both the atomizer and base together in a case is the possibility of accidentally pushing the button now pointless? What I mean is if I don't have the atomizer screwed on the base then does that stop the connection from being made when the button is pushed or is it just best to always remove the battery if I'm throwing it in my pocket?

Do you guys carry this thing around with you throughout the day and if so how do you transport it? Any good cases? Or is the protege strictly an at home/desk/car vape for you? If so, what do you use for going out?

I also like my pants on the baggy side (with millions of pockets, I basically have 6 pairs of the same exact cargo shorts in different colors, pockets galore!). Maybe I'm just being too paranoid about it. I've tried to quite smoking with e-cigs a number of times now and I usually end up getting frustrated at some point with all the hassle. Now that I've got the protege and am loving it I don't want to lose it! ;-)

@Collateral5
The button does seem to be rather stiff. I'll go commando for a bit and see how it goes... ;-)

@Fodder4U
True, true it is a lot easier than the Janty stick, where the battery swapping was the biggest frustration there.

@a2dcovert
What is this Case Logic padded case you speak of?

@nubee
Flashlight case, now that's what I'm looking for, great idea!

I carry mine in my front jeans pocket as well...never had a problem with it firing accidentally. However, shhhh don't tell Steve and Casey, I did have an adapter loosen in the middle and I thought later that I might have put too much pressure on the thing while carrying it (atty on) and that is what caused the adapter to fail. PS replaced it of course!

Seriously Steve, do ya think that could have happened? I mean I don't wear baggy jeans, but they aren't skin tight either. I honestly didn't think of that possibility until after I had sent it in for replacement. I will pay you for it, if you think that I was responsible for the adapter breaking :(

I'm not sure how it is possible for you,or anyone else for that matter, to break anything on this "Monster" The Protege is very well built...I mean I just can't see anyone breaking the Protege.......Unless it was done on purpose....
To make a long story short,I don't think you had anything to do with the Protege braking at all...It was probably a mishap or something like that...

By the way, i love your Avatar....

The Protege is well built. I had mine in the case logic case and was trying to get in the door of my house with many things in my hands. The case slipped out of my hands and fell to the concrete. The protege came out of it with no damage but the cart was shattered in several pieces. I never carry it with a atty & cart on from then on.

"Cigar Save it" Amazon. Telescopes to 6.5", 54 ring size which would fit the Protege. Pop up top, pocket clip. Main body is metal, telescope plastic, removeable bottom cap.
