Travelling with e-cigs and nic juice - Australia

Hiii,

I was wondering if anyone had experience with entering Australia carrying their kit. I have 2 eGos, a Happy-010 and a DSE108, 5x30ml bottles and a 50ml bottle (all bought in Canada).

Any hints on the best way to pack all this? Air Canada lets you on-board with e-cigs (apparently), but I'm not 100% sure of their liquid policy. They also have restrictions on the types & numbers of batteries you can carry, and whether they can go into your checked luggage.

Then there's a connecting flight with Qantas - no idea what they allow yet! And, of course, our fantastic Customs people at the other end...

So, any stories of experience (or links to threads I've missed) would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to lose all (or even part) of my kit, but my initial thought is to split the risk & pack 1/2 as checked and 1/2 as carry-on. What say you?

Cheers,

Jim.

OK, so I just had to "suck it and see". Rang Customs, the official "word" was that as long as I declared everything (possible penalties for not declaring, they didn't say what the penalties would be) and had 30 days supply or less, it "should" be OK. No formal guidelines available at this time.

Qantas were a different story. Rang them, on hold so long I gave up. Posted a question via their web form, no response (it's now been 6 days).

So, packed the e-liquids with all the other liquids, no problem. Bottles 30-50ml, none over 100ml so no prob. Boarded both Air Canada and Qantas planes, passed security in Toronto (Pearson), Vancouver (YVR) and Sydney.

However, I did get detained for a quite a while by Customs in Sydney, but not for e-juice. They didn't bat an eyelid at that. Between my e-cigs, phones, laptop & gadgets I had too many batteries. So they dismantled my on-board luggage & my checked bag. Got "sniffer dogged".

So not too bad, but I did miss my connecting flight & had to rebook.

Advice: Travel in Australia with only as many e-cigs as you actually need to get by, and like the Customs folk said, only carry as much juice as you think would be reasonable to explain as 30 days worth.

Cheers.

Definitely worth the pain of the delay and minor harassment to get comfort vaping over what, in the end, was a 29 hour flight-and-airport experience. Try *that* with only patches & gum. I felt NO pain - it was the most comfortable long-distance travel of my life.

BTW, I have finally run out of analogs & am trying hard not to buy any. So far, so good!
