Treating my 501 bats right...

I am expecting my 1st 501 kit. Is there any trick to the batts with regards to the 1st charge? I have heard that treating the batts right at the begining can make the batts perform better. Also, how long can I expect a 501 batt to last? I currently smoke just under a pack a day. Will I need to carry more than one batt? Thanks for any help.
I sure hope that the 501 was the right choice...

No tricks to charging. As to how long they last... couple of hours probably. You'll want to carry a few with you might consider either a PCC (personal charging case). I'd advise upgrading to a larger battery like the eGo if changing batteries starts to get in the way of your switching from analogs.

P.S. Remember to drink plenty of water!

Its going to depend on how much or little you use it.
I would suggest getting at least one more spare battery so you have 3 of them, that way it is not a priority to immediately have to charge the depleted battery just after you switch out.
I'm of the way of thinking that doing whatever you can (afford) to make it easier for you the better.
Why put yourself through stressing over where to charge your battery, especially if away from home, if one of your two dies. This way you will most always have a spare waiting to go while one is in use and another is charging.
Just my 2 cents.
