Would a 501 kit be good enough for me?

Been doing a bit of research on these forums and am trying to narrow down my choices. I am not a heavy smoker( once a day and when I drink) so I was wondering if the 501 kit from cignot would be a good choice. I was also looking at the ego since everyone on this forum seems to love it but am unsure if it would have any benefit for me since battery life is not a huge deal.

Also I am still kinda unsure what the difference is between models such as the 501, V4L, 901, 905 and kr808. all in all I would rather shell out a few extra bucks and get the right product the first time around.

Besides batt life, the eGo alows the use of eGomega cartos and carts/attys. They hold up to 2.5ml of juice, and vape MUCH better IMO. Of course, you could use a eGo mega carto on a 510 and it works, but it would look like this(a little goofy, but not too bad).

The eGo feels better in the hand, to my mind. And I like the size of it, and the batt life is great.

Welcome! There is no aswer that is right in all cases. Being a light smoker than more than likley yes. I read of a few light smokers that liked vapeing so much that they did it more using 0 nic juice. If you have not looked at this plz do it a good over view

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/36180-wonderful-world-vaping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html

look thru all 6 parts. Some need a high voltage box mod to get what they want others are happy with a small battery 510 or kr808 type. Others will be along to give advise also.

For me started greensmoke (way overpriced) then found this fourm and got ego, but then again I way a pack a day smoker and need bigger battery. Could not deal with changing charging bateries every 1 to 2 hr.

I’m also new so take what I say with a grain of salt.

When I started searching around I was finding *most* people recommending the eGo and a few the 510. I thought I wanted something more cigarette like, but I liked the charge once a day aspect of the eGo, so I got both.

Having used them both I really like the 510 a bunch more. The flavor and TH are about the same between them both but I like the lighter weight of the 510. The battery doesn’t last long, maybe an hour but I knew that going in so I bought a PCC (its working great).

If you're only smoking once a day, a 510 would probably be sufficient for your needs. Yes, the eGo does have a longer battery life, but that sounds like it would be a non-issue for you. Considering the roughly $25 more it would cost for an eGo, I don't know that it's really worth the added expense in your case. If down the road you decided that you vape a lot more frequently than you smoked, you can always step up and get the eGo, and everything but the battery/charger will still work on the eGo.

If you're a light smoker the 510 should be fine for you. The ego is the 510 with a larger battery basically.

I started off with a 510, but I had to charge the batteries too often (I was a pack a day smoker). My wife, who was a lighter smoker then I was, is fine using the 510. She also doesn't care for the size of the ego in her small hands.

Start off with the 510 and some good juice. If later you feel like upgrading to the larger and longer lasting batt of the ego the 510 will make a nice backup if something goes wrong with the ego. The atomizer is the same for both so parts are interchangeable.

i started with a 510.. and it worked fine for me.. but battery life was getting to be an issue... seems i vape more than i smoked, specially since i dont have to go outside at work to smoke now.. =P i just got my ego.. and one point no one has mentioned yet... you can draw a lot longer on the ego than the 510.. a standard 510 with reg batteries you can draw on for like 5 seconds before it automatically cuts off.. with a 510 mega battery its a bit longer... but the ego has what.. a 20 second one? and longer draw typically = more vapor.. also... even if battery life itself isnt an issue.. when the batteries start getting low.. not fully charged.. vapor production is substantially less even before it totally dies on you... i can see myself still using both depending on the situation and where i am... but im much much happier with the ego.. however if you do decide to go with the 510.. i would def recommend getting the mega batteries.. the reg 510 batteries never lasted me more than an hour or so... even if battery life doesnt seem like an issue and you just smoke when you drink... having to swap out and charge your cigarette every hour or so gets to be annoying.. specially when ive been drinking =P

so in closing... my vote is the ego.. i love this thing.. but if you get your heart set on a 510... def go for the mega batteries!

Hmmmm decisions decisions. I am leaning towards the ego, Im not loving the size and style of it but if the batteries are really that bad on the 501's the ego is probably worth it. I dont smoke that much but if i do go out on the weekends I have 3-5 smoke breaks per outing so that might be too much for the 501 battery to handle.

Thanks for your help everyone!

The 510 will handle 3-5 smoke breaks at about 5-10 minutes each, at least with a newer battery. If you're concerned about a low batt just bring a spare. A PCC is another option. They're about the size of a cig pack but recharge your battery while stored. With one of those you'd be set for the evening since it stores cart's or cartos too.

i wasnt fond of bigger e-cigs at first either.. and i also thought i wanted a automatic battery... the closer feeling to smoking a real cig the better, i thought... but my opinion has changed drastically since... imo..go with your gut feeling on what you think you want.. worse case scenario, you change your mind... its still cheaper than smoking in the long run.. as the previous poster said... pcc's, mega batteries, or even carrying spare batteries are always an option for the 510... this vaping thing is kind of a learning curve of figuring out what works best for you...

I'd also be just as concerned about what juice to get as I would be about what model mini to purchase. Skip the dekang/boge and jump straight to some of the more raved about suppliers... Vaporbomb, Backwoods Brew, Alien Visions etc

My fave liquid so far is bestecig's 555 @ 36mg's.... *homer gurgle*

You might also want to consider a 901 over the 510, I've been using a 510 in place of my usual 901 and after reading about the legendary 510 I wasn't overly impressed tbh. From what I've read here, a 510 produces hotter vapour but less flavour, 901's produce more flavour, but cooler vapour, and 801's produce even more flavour, but even cooler vapour. Not knocking the 510 per se, but I prefer a 901 atty, and if you're a fairly light smoker, you may as well.

The main difference between different models are this.. atomizer (adapter btw, are about $4 apiece, so you could have a 510 batt => 901 atty connection), battery life (standard 510/901/801 are the shortest @ < 200mAh, or at most 2 hours of constant vaping), voltage (all mini's are 3.7v, mods run from 3.7v to 7.4v) which affects vapour temperature and flavour and size/style.

Pick your priorities and find the best deal you can :) And don't assume I havent missed something important lol
