Years ago I developed benign tremor. It has come and gone since then. They amped up a few months prior to my vaping start, and have since escalated to twitching and even jerking.

let me be clear by stating that I do not think that vaping is the cause of my increased symptoms.

I think however, that it is possible that quitting smoking could have something to do with it, what with all the talk I see about MAOIs and whatnot.

I am wondering if any of you have experienced new or worsening neurological symptoms after quitting smoking? I am just curious. I haven't really seen a mention of this but perhaps someone out there has experience to share.

I am off to see my neurologist today...

+1 to support.

I cannot prove it, but I think tobacco altered my brain permanently. I've been generally more shakey throughout life since I discovered (and habitualized) nic and caf.

I hope for you it is temporary withdrawl. Is there some alcohol in the equation? That's definitely associated with tremmors.

I think nic and caf could very well have long term consequences for brain chemistry. But there are soooooo many variables in that area we may never know for sure beyond the short term effects on the brain.

And no, alcohol is not involved. I rarely drink.

I'd be very interested to hear what the neurologist says.

Actually the topic of nic never came up. Of course I didn't bring it up either, as this was a preexisting condition, and time with the docs always seems rushed anyway.

Would be interesting to see if we hear any more stories from ex-smokers about similar symptoms.

If count running over curbs and not being able to type neurological, yes.
Especially after I dropped to 0 nic.

I run over curbs too! Lol.

I guess I thought that by now my nic withdrawl symptoms would be decreasing or non-existant rather than increasing. And since I have pretty much stayed at 18 mgs I figured that perhaps any symptoms may not necessarily be nic related. But who knows...

First off sorry you are having such trouble. I hope your doctor will have an answer for you.

I've actually experienced the opposite. I was getting leg spasms around the time I decided to get back to vaping. I would get them when I was just starting to relax in a chair or bed. I have not had one since I went 100% smoke free.

This too shall pass. You are doing the smart thing in seeing your doctor. That's the first step in the right direction.

No neurological symptoms after quitting smoking nor during my 4 years vaping.

Good luck at the Doctors and I sure hope things go well for you. :)
