At the risk of possibly opening a can of worms, I've been hearing rumblings about potential issues with the 510 down the road similar to what RX users have experienced. Is the 510 really the same? I'm inclined to use spacers on the attys and just being extra careful when putting on and taking them off.

There is no comparison with the joyetech 510s which are trash IMO. I've had no issues thus far. Rocking the Crown, Supreme, the subzero with zero problem.

I don't think the Crown was causing issues with the RX. The ones I kept hearing were the smok TFV4 and the Griffin 25 due to their longer pins. I have the Crown, and as you know, the SubZero.

I just received it and have to say I'm a bit disappointed. I haven't used it yet, but just inspecting it, there are way too many gaps and vents for juice to creep in and possibly leading to malfunction. Maybe its just because Im comparing it to my Lavabox mod that have no visible seams or openings, just some vent holes under the device where the battery is.

I just looked at one of mine and all of the seams are too tight for juice to get through, except the battery door. But you would have to have lots of ml of juice in there before it would be a problem. Okay there are vents on the sides, but that isn't going to get juice anywhere (near the board) except on the bottom of the mod.

Well just got my limited edition Triade up and running, it's the red version. Hope you enjoy!

Oh that's really nice. I have a red one myself. Where did you get those side panel inserts? Really nice!

I was not worried too much that juice would just leak in from the tank. However, its very likely that juice will get on the tank (top side bottom.. whatever) and then you would need to clean it off. At this point, when you rub the juice and shine your mod with a cloth or napkin, you actually push in the juice into those seams slowly but surely. Hah, maybe this will actually close some of those seems over time...

Jokes aside, the seems on mine are not as tight as I would like them to be. Having the main board and battery compartment be so open to spills is surely something that worries me. Even the grove around the 510 triangle feels like it would be impossible to clean WHEN (not if) juice does get in there. I guess since it's much cheaper than its DNA 200 (75) competitors, I probably should not have expected a miracle.

I had seen a pic or was it a video of the face plate removed. Easy to remove, just four screws in the battery compartment. And guess what you find? There is another plate covering the board. I don't know how you would get juice on the board without putting juice in a pressure washer. Well dropping it in a bucket of juice would do it too. But I don't think it is something to worry about.

I also had taken a grocery receipt I had here (it's that thin thermal paper) and tried to slip it under all of the seams. And I could only get it in there a few mm before it would stop. The sides where the vents are, I got it further, but it still stopped even there. I really don't think you have to worry about even a 10ml tank unloading all of its juice all over the mod. A really bad leak, just remove the face plate to see how bad it is. And I don't think there will be much in there and the board will most likely still be dry.

Cool, good to know there is another cover behind the plate. I actually opened it up and just checked. I noticed that as soon as you release any of the screwed, the faceplate springs out a bit with each turn. This could be the reason why some plates may seem to stick out more than others. Tightening the screws may fix it.

Also, I saw under the battery cover to "Not reverse Polarity!". This makes sense, but does DNA 200 have built in reverse polarity protection, is is that functionality specific to each device?

No the DNA200 board does not sport any reverse protection. Well sort of. As it will draw over 25A and a surface mounted fuse blows and everything else is suppose to survive. I know the HCigar VT133 (same DNA200 board) added their daughter board which adds reverse polarity protection. I can't think of any other model which adds their own. The Reuleaux DNA200 and the Triade uses those rings on the positive contact. Also don't slide the battery in and out across those rings. As that will tear battery wraps. Watch that video posted earlier if you didn't watch it yet. And those rings won't make contact if you put the battery in backwards.

Thanks, I was beginning to think no one would ask. Those are actually a tounge depressors. I had been thinking about Lost Vapes new 75w mod and thought those kind of wood panels would look great on the Triade.

I've got the Duo and never used the wood panels, I used the abalone instead. So I made a pattern, cut it out, and stuck it on...looked like crap. Anyway, I had these tounge depressors laying around, used the same pattern and cut them out with a box knife. Beveled the edges, a little cherry stain, some clear silicone calk on the backside, and called it done.

I like them, but I'm still not done. They're a tad to thick for me. I'll take them off and sand them down a bit and try again, but I think I'm on the right track.

That's brilliant. Thanks for the tip. I think I will try something similar. There are some wraps that look compelling. There is one that I like quite a bit that ships from the UK, but will mow consider the side inserts too [emoji6]

im still waiting for djlsb vapes review
he usually tear apart all the mod he review

bit curious about the wiring and the 510 construction in this triade
bcause my rx200 and rx dna200 both have crappy 510, and they get warm rather quickly ,maybe thats becuase the 510 sitting so deep in the battery sledge..
that's why i'd like to see the 510 construction first from this triade

is there somewhere i can see the video or picture of this triade tore apart??
cant find any so far..

The Triade is not related to the Wismec products. Lost Vape is highly regarded as making high quality devices. Check out reviews for their other mods, DUO, Effusion etc. Everyone says the same- Great Build Quality!

I feel the same about mine. One of the best mods I own personally. If you love the 3 batt config/ergonomics...you can't do any better than the Triade. I have both the RX200 and 200S. They are not even in the same league when it comes to build quality and sit on the shelf.

I hope this helps!

Cheers

I'm not sure if you know the answer, but Wismec also offers a DNA 200 version of the RX200. Any idea if Wismec improved the overall quality of the remainder of the mod when they included the chip, or is it the same build quality as the RX200/s? Because that Wismec DNA 200 is about the same price as the Triade, and I'd have a tough time justifying spending that much on the Wismec build, DNA or not.

I am so happy with the Triade and Lost Vape's quality of build and attention to detail I just ordered an Efusion Duo from VapeNW with their July 4th 20% off sale.

I don't actually know first hand. However the reviews that I have seen seem to indicate that the RX line is the same, except for the chip. There are plenty of complaints about the 510 in the RX DNA.. I am not at all bashing the Wismec boxes, I just can tell the difference of quality between my RX200x and Triade. Different experience.

Congrats on the DUO, I'm actually considering it myself. I just hate that the panels are not truly interchangeable- small con, but causes me to pause. I'm now looking into the Therion. That too has its cons. I wish it were a DNA 200 :)

I've heard nothing but great things about the DUO, I'm sure you will be very happy. I might be there with you in fact[emoji6] :)
