I'm gonna toss in one more small piece of advice to go along with the plethora of information madjack has given you. When you place your order from LF (or which ever vendor you get your PV from) add on a 5 pack of Standard Resistance(2.3-2.8) Cartomizers, I like Boge ones myself.

Reasoning behind this is that the 1.5ohm Sometech's that come with your kit, and the 1.7ohm CCV Resurrectors (which I'm in love with) will go through juice a bit quicker than your standard resistance cartos and can more easily be "toasted" (used too dry, resulting in singing the filler and a nasty wood smoke taste) by new guys since they aren't familiar with how often they have to re-wet the carto.

The E-Power from Liberty Flights or MadVapes is a better option than the eGo or Riva. Same size but the batteries only cost $4-$5 instead of the $20 for Riva/eGo batteries. And the batteries last 5 times longer than those more expensive batteries. There is nothing wrong with the Riva/eGo for that level of PV, but why pay more when you can get the same or better performance for less.

I like the e-power as well BUT to say they are the same size is an inaccurate statement IF, what I have seen pic wise is true...the 14650 model is slightly larger and the 18650 model looks to be considerably larger...if you can show me pics, that indicate the are the same size, I'll shut up...otherwise, I call ya on that statement!!!!!!!

p.s. not to mention reported switch and other issues...some vendors have pulled them until QC issues are dealt with........mj
p.s.s. my first mod will probably be the RoughStak V2 from MadVapes...............mj

I have held all of the models in question. The 14500 model E-Power is almost exactly the same size as the Riva. It may be a millimeter larger around but not enough that you can tell by holding it. I have not heard of many switch problems at all with the E-Power. And even if in the unlikely event the switch did malfunction, the replacement switch is only $12 for the E-Power which is less than the $20 you pay for the switch/battery replacement with the Riva.

Appearance wise it looks very similar to the Riva. I read the portion on filling the carto & it sounds like a PITA, are they all this bad or does it just read way worse than it is? Im def wanting some on the hassle free side as much as possible. I'd almost prefer something that looks more in design of a traditional cig, but from what I have read most folks start that route then buy a ego or something similiar, so Im all about skipping the wasting portion with buying mistakes. lol

All cartos require filling beforehand. The nice thing is -- especially if your job requires a bit of driving like mine does -- you won't be dripping on an atomizer all day. I know people do a lot of strange things to fill up a carto, I just pop the caps off and drip liquid down the sides until it's good and wet, once a drop starts to come out the bottom you know its full. Put the caps back on until it's ready to use. I usually take a minute or two at night to fill three up for the next day, and all is well.

p.s. the Riva replacements are not 20 bux but 11.99...and the new ones they are selling, come with a 3click on/off switch, a feature they didn't have when I bought my kits...........mj

You are off to a great start with the Riva whoever you get it from. I agree with one post that you will want to get a wall charger to go with the usb. The 1.5 dual coils are fine but be advised they have a heafty hit, some say too much. I like the CE2 fluxomizers but they may not be the thing for right out of the gate as they require a little adjustment. I might recommend some Boge 2.0 cartomizers to compare to the duals.

Of course you will need E-liquid and my best advice is order small samples of whatever you get. Even though a flavor sounds delicious and has all the high praises from ECF folks, it may taste like...well horrible (to be PC) to you. My favorite is ECblends but as much as I like them they have some I did not like. My only all day vapes I have found (and trust me I have tried dozens) both come from ECblend. 7 leaf tobacco and chocolate hazelnut tobacco are the best I have found in my search.

As far as deciding what to get initially, I feel your pain. LOL. I'm only about a week ahead of you, having lurked and read here every day for weeks- till my head was spinning. I ordered an eGo-t from LF last thursday. My choice decision to go with this kit was made on the basis of convenience and quality, as portrayed by reviews and suggestions here on the forum. I'd say I'm pretty satisfied with it. the batteries have lasted me 1.5 days each on their initial charge. (650mAh) I've had no leaks. I wish the vapes were slightly stronger, but that's probably just some noob adjustments i need to make to my juice and/or atty.
it must be working fairly well, since I haven't had a cig. in almost 2 days. I am also one of those who wasn't specifically trying to quit analogs. My kit with 4 sample juices and shipping was <$70
Good Luck.

Love the money I am saving, although I still smoke about 3 analogs per day. I need to quit buying them at this point!

Put them in the trunk of your car and when you're at home/work put your eGo where you used to keep your analogs. Basically you're tricking your brain to reach for your eGo instead of the analogs. But if you really need one, you can always go out to the trunk to get one, eventually you'll notice that you really don't wanna make that trip out to the trunk...that's when you know to stop buying a pack.

Thats my one problem, i can go most of the day without needing an analog, but the old lady still has a pack sitting out on our back porch, and every time i walk out there, me and the pack of cigarettes have a staring match. They win most of the time so far, but i find myself avoiding the back porch now lol.

Most sites have the Riva batteries between $15- $20. But even at $12, why would I want to pay $12 for a battery when I can get one that is better for $4-$5 and it will last 5 times longer??

I was so close to otrdering the Riva but as shallow as this may sound, it is something I will have with me on a daily basis. I can not stand the gols band in the center of it. Im more of a tacti-cool type fella lol. I may end up going with the EGO simply on color pallet alone. The folks at Darth Vapor seem to be giving me the same deal all around as the liberty flights price with the 20% off plus they have been very helpful as far as answering any questions I have had. I hope Im making the right choice. This is in a way kinda funny. I can drop a 1000.00 or more on a new gun & not even blink a eye but 70.00 or so on a e-cig is stressing me the hell out. I guess it all boils down to what you know.

Just a friendly tidbit, the plastic inserts inside boxes of new ammo make dandy carto organizers. Snagged a couple from a buddy that shoots .308 and they fit perfectly with the condoms on.
