After looking at the great work Dreadymark has done I thought, I'd give it a try.

I'm not sure if I should keep this and clearcoat it or sand it and try again?

If I ever decide to get a metal REO it would have to look like this. So can you control the colors?
As far as I know it only works on brass and copper not aluminum. I sure with more practice you could get to the point of controlling color, for me it was just do it and see what happens.

Oh, lol....found something!

Traditional Black Patinas - Finishes

Slate Black Patina is a versatile and unique finish for use on iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, brass, or copper.

Applied hot, Slate Black will create a deep brown patina on aluminum and a red-green finish on stainless steel. On iron, steel, and nonferrous metals, Slate Black will form a black patina when applied cold.

FB, I think this looks magnificent - one of a kind. You should really keep it as a memento if nothing else (your first ever door).

Excellent point! I was just wonder what would happen with one of the circles brass doors, would the patina cover them and hide them or would the circles add character?
