Born and raised in Boston but now living in the burbs I had to take a trip in to the VA for an appointment. This involved parking in the next town and getting on the commuter rail for the hour trip into South Station so once boarded I asked one of the conductors (while showing it to her) if I could use my vaporizer on the train. She looked at it and leaned in to smell my exhale, shrugged her shoulders and with a smile said she didn't see a problem with it but would ask. I never saw her again so I just stealth vaped on the way in.
Arrived at SS then on to the subway and it's rush hour now, then 3 stops to the trolley which takes me to my destination, the final stop in Jamaica Plain. Stealth vaped semi-openly on the trolley then into the VA, 4th floor to the waiting room where I asked the guy at the desk if I could use it my PV there. He said as long as it didn't smell, no problem so I vaped openly.
Not an MD, my doc was elated that I did quit smoking and had only heard about e-cigs. I spent the next 20 minutes giving him my best pitch and he said because it was not an FDA approved device he could not recommend it to any of his many other smoking patients, but he would do his own research and promised me that he would definitely at least mention the device to others saying that he just happened to have a patient (me) who quit instantly with it (4 months tomorrow by the way).
He was the doc who put me on Bupropion (the main ingredient in Welbutrin) 2 years ago to help me quit smoking. It did manage to get me down to no less than 6 cigs a day but by last fall I was gradually increasing my smoking and up over a pack a day, then I got my KR8 and the rest is history (for me).
So, semi-stealth vaped all the way back home and all in all had no problems. Common sense is perhaps the best guide in that I ask for permission every chance I can and can very easily stealth vape sitting beside a perfect stranger if I wanted to. Being able to make a perfect cloud of vapor and release no vapor at all with the same cart is easily obtained and can really avoid unnecessary problems or bad publicity.
It really was so nice to enjoy my trip today getting in all the vaping I wanted to, stealth or otherwise.
