Hi all, just started vaping. So happy to find something that actually made me stop smoking. Nothing ever worked, patches, gum, etc...

I got the Halo Triton starter kit and like it. However, based on my initial research it seems like you do need multiple tanks as you need to replace them. The ones sold by Halo are good but kind of pricey. Just wondering if there is a cheaper generic alternative.

Keep in mind that you don't have to replace the entire tank if it starts tasting burned or if the coil goes bad. The coil/wick can be replaced separately and only costs about $2,50 (sometimes even cheaper) as compared to a new tank, which usually runs anywhere from $6.95 up to $8.95. And even the coil doesn't have to be replaced if it starts tasting bad. Just take the coil/wick assembly out of the tank, pull the wick gently to one side until the burned part is no longer in the tube, then screw the assembly back into place. Doubles or even triples the life of your wick. Yes, you probably will want to have multiple tanks to make changing flavors much easier. At one point I had about fifteen different tanks, some filled with different juices and some for spares while I cleaned others and let them dry. I think you'll be very happy with the Halo/Triton system, at least until you decide to upgrade (which we almost all do at some point).

The Triton tank made for 808/ego threading is nearly the same as a Kanger T2 made for 510/ego threading. The Kanger T2 will screw on and work on the Triton battery, but the Triton tank does not work on a 510/ego battery. When you use a T2 on the Triton battery, it does leave a small gap, but not all that noticeable. Any T2 replacement head will work on either tank. I get my T2s and replacement heads at litecigusa...about $4-5.00 for the Tank and less than $1 for the heads.

As for other things that fit an 808/ego threaded battery, try Smokeless Image. They use a 808/ego battery called the Volt X2, and they sell several different tanks that will also fit the Halo Triton battery.
