Hi all. I've bought about a total of ten-twelve tanks from Halo. Mostly Tritons. However, thus far, two of the triton tanks, and one mini tank, have been defective. The mini and one of the Tritons was leaking at the base where the plastic tank is glued at the bottom to the metal rim that attached to the batt. My other tanks have all been functional and I continue to use them.

I returned the Triton leaking tank and informed Halo of the repeated leaking issue. They sent me a replacement tank. When I received it, I immediately noticed that the pull, as opposed to being airy, was like sucking concrete through a straw. I tried both loosening and tightening all of the pieces (coil, etc), but to no avail. Also, it was burning INCREDIBLY hot - so hot that it would burn your mouth after a single drag. I thought that this might be due to a bad coil. So I replaced it with a brand new coil (at a lower ohm level to burn cooler), but the SAME problem occured again.

What can I do to fix this? This is getting very frustrating. Should I return this replacement tank and ask for a SECOND replacement? Sounds a bit ridiculous. But there is something wrong with this replacement, more than user error. Ive not had this problem with any of my other tanks. This has me really questioning Halo's QC.

Thanks so much in advance for your advice!

I would email them againand get another replacement.
The tanks in question, were they the same colors? Maybe a bad batch, ask for a different color?

So far I've had 10+ mini tanks, and 7 Triton tanks, zero leaks and no bad coils

And if its getting hot and you can't pull from it, sounds like an obstruction somewhere. Clean your battery moat and the little holes, take the coil off and check the center post hole, don't over tighten the tank, make sure your fingers aren't covering the side holes

Thanks much for your reply. Regarding your recommendations about clearing an obstruction, I totally agree that it seems an obstruction is a likely culprit. However, I have tried all of the suggestions you made above prior to posting, to no avail. Additionally, I tried this same tank on two different Triton batts, and it is performing the same on both. Whereas all of my other tanks are performing just fine on those same batts.

Email Halo for another replacement tank, it shouldn't be that much trouble. :)

Thanks Evie. Good to see you again! I am just a bit worried of ticking them off, as the last time I returned the tank I submitted my picture of the leaking tank like way late, as I was out of the country and not familiar with their new policy of a pic request. The first time I returned the faulty mini tank, they did not request a photo.

It is also possible that the post has a partial short, the insulator either broken, when they clamped the 2 parts together or it is slightly out of alignment, that could cause the huge heat issue.

Either way, you have done all the right trouble shooting steps it sounds like, so yes... contact Halo Customer Service.

Hey Cherokee, question for ya.
You said you tried tank on two different batteries and had same results, tight draw and over heated?
Have you tried drawing on tank off a battery?
Is it still restricted off the battery?
If yes, the intake tube is at fault.
If not, the tank base side breathers might be clogged.

I had a similar condition the other day and found that the breather holes on either side of the tank base were clogged shut. This made the draw while on the battery like sucking a milkshake and hot as h€}}. A paper clip pushed through the holes opened it right up and all was fine.

Hope your problem is this easy to fix..

i bought a bunch of tanks recently, and two of them didn't work.. i tried everything i could, with all of my different batteries, and they kept giving me the three-blink error message. halo refunded me what i had paid, which is nice, but i've got more coming in the mail and i hope they all work! wanna load em up with different flavors! :)
