Ok after using Midnight Apple in the Triton for awhile I ran into the same problem with a burnt coil and burnt juice.....turned the juice almost black. The Triton does not seem to like the midnight apple at all! The only solution I found is per Halo's instruction manual to keep the Triton filled to the 2 ml mark with the midnight apple. It is a bit bothersome since it only holds 2.4 ml. It must be a wicking problem with the Triton and midnight apple as the other juices I have used have been ok so far.

Yeah, there's definitely an issue, but it's not exclusive the the halo wick/coils. I've had the same issue with replacements heads from two other vendors. Looks like its a carto only juice for me. Haven't tried it with the mini tanks yet though.

Haven't had any issues with the mini tanks; then again, I'm not a huge midnight apple fan. So far, all other halo juices are fine in them, as well as all Mt Baker Vapor and Highbrow Vapor juices, too.

edit:
ran through the PDF manual for the Triton, and the fixes they mention do alleviate a lot of the issues I've had. Check their FAQ page for the triton to see the PDF.

And what is the standard resistance?

Also the burning is worse with the mini tanks because of the short wick.

My experience with the G6 mini-tanks has been very different than yours. I've been using the first one I bought for over two weeks now and I've had no burnt taste, no leaking and it's still performing extremely well. I am careful not to let it run down to empty so the wicks never dry out. So for me the length of the wicks hasn't caused a problem.

I've been using my Triton now for 17 days and I haven't had any of the burning problems. I have 3 tanks I'm using. One has Halo sub zero menthol, one has strawberry flavor from another vendor and the other has Halo HX3 in it. I did have some problems back when the midnight apple flavor first came out in my G6 setup with some clearomizers so I stopped using that juice. Although I havent tried any since I purchased the Triton.
Halo now has replacements on their website and it says to go with a higher resistance which they offer if you're having the burnt taste problems.

I have found that having the coil screwed in snug...but not too tight makes a noticeable difference in performance. This is the good/bad to having replaceable coils and not unique to the Triton tank. Once I found the right touch between snug vs tight, they have been very, very good.

On my 3rd day with the tanks (and only had to plug in my 1st 1300 battery last night). I have not had any burning taste issue, but I have had one problem. Burning my lips off. I tend to take hits in fairly quick succession. I found that backing off the tightness of the drip tip just a hair resolves the issue.

On another note, since these are top coil, don't store them upright. I learned this with the Vivi novas. When I set them down I always check that both sides of the wick are in the juice as well. they do work best when topped off, but I went through a whole tank without refilling just to see how it would do. I didn't have any issues by keeping an eye on how saturate the wicks were.

Same thing for the G6 tanks, but I think they are even easier to keep saturated. They way they are wedged right against the tank wall really keeps them wet without any fiddling. I suspect that is why they don't have to be as long as the Triton ones.

Somewhere out there
I just got a Triton tank and the Triton batteries and I must say I am impressed! I have tried about every clearo out there and the Triton is fabulous! One thing I found tho, everytime I unscrew the top cap to fill, the wick assembly unscrews to very loose, so be sure to tighten up snug before filling and putting top cap back on. It works best full to 2/3 full. So if it gets lower you have to do the swirly clearo dance to make sure wicks are saturated. Also on first fill, let your tank sit for 15 mins before use so everything is saturated. Then take a puff. I have had great results. Only slight brunt taste was when tank was half full and I didn't twirl/swirl it but not bad. Clearos are notorious for being fiddly but this clearo tank is the least fiddly I have ever tried. And I have tried alot! LOL If do get any juice in the air hole, just take off batt and blow gently into tissue to get any bottom drips. Now if had a glass tank or poly pro instead of plastic carbonate it would be 100% the best clearo!
I really like this! bnrk

Does anyone know if the low resistance wick assembly is used in the clearos you buy outright? It is a pretty hot/warm vape. Not sure how the high resistance will work on the batts that are not VV.

Here is another tip, take off the top mouth piece and look for any condensation of juice on top of wick assembly and sides that sticks up near the air hole, any of these droplets can affect vaping quality, dab them off along whole area with a tissue periodically and also wipe out your mouthpiece inside. Vaper condensates inside and lets those droplets form at top of wick assembly. It is a common clearo tank problem, you have to clean those off so they don't mess up the vape quality. Then put top mouthpiece back on just until you feel it a bit snug but not tight. It should vape great again with a fresh fill. Also if any juice gets in the air hole you will get burning or no hit, so blow out gently from to time to be sure it is clear. Clearos are fiddly, but this one is less fiddly than most :) bnrk
