Had it happen to me once. User error. They really aren't meant to be bent in any way, as they will be, by carrying them in a pocket and moving around... Now, while at work, I still carry a Triton in my pocket, as we are somewhat allowed to vape in restrooms, but don't have the tank attached to the battery. Haven't had any issues since...

(You still haven't told us how it broke; what were you doing?)

I have autopsy pics if anyone want's to see the gory details...

"Manuel" was drowned, but mechanically was fine. Perhaps he did not die in vain...
It was an accident I tell ya! ....um, I mean, that's what I 'heard'.....ok I plead the 5th! So we had a few drinks? We were taking a bubble bath, he went under, it all happened so fast!!!!!!!!

I've also taken a Triton (1300) apart, but it takes a fair bit of effort. The whole unit is pretty sturdy, but that joint is the weakest point.

If it's any help (i.e. "practical"), keep the battery and tank separate, when not using them: the tank adds extra leverage, putting you in a situation where it's much easier for the battery to come apart. Without the tank on, only the connector is showing, and you'd have to apply some clearly noticeable force to get it to separate.
