It just stinks because my go to menthol that I have been using for a few years now, does not give an option for PG/VG amounts. I have never found a menthol as good as that one either :(

Just me, because of my sensitivity to VG this is why I will not buy juice from any vendor that doesn't disclose the pg/vg ratio.
A lot of vendors use menthol as a name for anything that contains spearmint, peppermint, menthol or ice flavorings or a combination of them.
Meaning what you like best from your normal supplier may actually be any one or a combination of those flavorings labeled as menthol.

It really can't hurt to try reaching out to the vendor. My daughter found a new to us eliquid vendor a couple of months ago at a local vape shop. We both really enjoyed the eliquid. They did not specify the pg/vg ratios on the bottle label, but since vg was listed before pg, I assumed that had more vg. I found their Facebook page and messaged them with my question about the ratios. They responded within 10 minutes. Their eliquid is expensive, but I am more willing to spend the extra money once in a while, as the budget allows, due to their prompt response and excellent customer service. (For the record, we live in Northern California, and the vendor is located here. I messaged them on Facebook around 11 pm on a Saturday night, and they responded almost immediately). The majority of the vendors that I have contacted for any information about their eliquid have been more than happy to give me the information I asked for.

You have received some excellent information regarding "process of elimination" to try to find out for yourself what might be causing your problem. Neither my daughter nor myself have, so far, had any allergic reactions to the eliquids we have tried. However, my daughter is very "gun shy" about eliquids that are heavy on cinnamon. Twice in the last 2 years, she was not feeling well and wound up with bronchitis. The first time she was vaping an absolutely delicious Snickerdoodle, the second time she was using a Pumpkin Pie eliquid that she thought was rather cinnamon heavy. We know that these eliquids - each from a different vendor, with different pg/vg ratios - did not cause the bronchitis - she was not feeling well before she started either one - but she is, quite understandably very cautious about vaping anything with cinnamon.

Good luck. I hope you find out what is causing your symptoms soon so you can continue to enjoy vaping.

Hi all-
I haven't posted in a long while. I am in need of some suggestions as to what could be going in with me all of the sudden with my vaping.

Within the past two months I have a very hard time breathing when vaping. I was just thinking at first that I was getting sick or something. Then, I stopped for a few days completely and I felt better so I started again. The evening of the first day back to vaping, I laid in bed trying to go to sleep feeling like an elephant was sitting on my chest and that my throat was closing up. It was very scary. So scary that I have now been to the pulmonologist as well as the cardiologist (because the chest heaviness was bad). My lungs are clear and heart is in good condition. Soooooo....I went and purchased a ZERO nicotine juice thinking that maybe it was the nicotine. NOPE.....that didn't work either, I have used my e-cig only on the past two Saturdays and it has zero nicotine liquid in it and I still have the same problem after the day of vaping. I feel like I am struggling to breath. It is horrible. It takes a day or so to subside. I really enjoy my vape. I quit analogs on April 9, 2011 and have been vaping every since. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could possibly be? Maybe I should try just VG Juices....would that make a difference? Please help....any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

Hi Shannon !! Glad to see you're still analog-free. COPD usually flares up in the winter and early spring but that may not be the problem for you. Did your vendor switch VG or PG or flavoring sources recently? are you using any liquids that may contain vanillin or nut products (tobaccos) or are you using only menthol? Does the menthol have koolada in it? (ask your vendor). and of course the basic questions....since you are only using the liquid on weekends, how old is the eliquid? how old is your atomizer? have you bought new coils/attnys lately? what metal is your tank made of? plastic or glass? time to replace? I bet it's something simple. :)

I sometimes get that too and it's awful. Only, it's not just the lungs, it's also my nose, everything related to breathing. And difficult digestions, the worst you ever heard of. Plus, it makes me very tense and I bet being tense doesn't help at all.

It could be anything, not even necessarily vape related... I'm thinking of doing exams to all kinds of possible food intolerance (it's not necessarily an allergy) and I'll try to add a few things to the exams: PG, VG, nicotine, flavours is basically impossible, alcohol, caffeine... I'll see if anything comes out.

Hope you get better! :)

After reading the symptoms, the mentioning of the feeling as if your throat is closing off suggests 1 or 2 things....1 a resistance has developed and your immune system is fighting it...2... the feeling of the throat closing suggests a similar symptom when experiencing Anaphylaxis (Anaphylactic shock) due to an allergy. That said, allergies can arise later even after use or ingestion has been in play for a period of time without any issues....I know a guy who used to be able to mow his lawn and all of a sudden he is allergic to fresh cut grass....just saying as an example.

Using the same juice(s) does not mean they are still the same in regards to ingredients used or quantities used. It may be that a change in the "recipe", whether chemical or quantity has occurred thus causing some issues.

I would suggest to contact your Pulmonologist again and look into the possibility of an infection of the Bronchial tubes and perhaps a go at an Antibiotic.

Best of luck!
