Got my evic this morning. Hooked it up to the computer, but it's reading it as a removable flash drive. MVR software isn't connecting with it. How do I get it to connect with the software?
never mind. I got it working. It had firmware version 1.0 on it and I had v1.2 software. Uninstalled the 1.2 and installed 1.0 software and had no problem. I also switched the USB to another port, so not sure which did the trick.
You didn't solve anything.
Reinstall MVR1.2 and Run as administrator
Connect eVic
Click Upgrade
Read and set up to your liking
Set the Temp alarm or it will keep misfiring.
Any questions after updating, just post back for help
When I first hooked up the evic the computer was saying that it was a flash drive and the 1.2 software couldn't see that the evic was there. I did reinstall the 1.2 software after I got the version 1.0 software to recognize that the evic was there. Switching to a different USB port may have been what solved my issue.
Just tried to connect the evic again and my computer keeps setting it as a USB mass storage device and the MVR software doesn't see that it is connected to the computer.
Hmmm, for me, everytime i connect my eVic to my comp it auto starts MVR. This is also when i was at 1.1fw and had MVR 1.2 installed. I then upgraded my eVic to 1.2 with no problem.
Even though it is detecting it as a USB mass storage device, open MVR with your eVic connected and try to click connect to MVR.
It doesn't see that the evic is connected. If I uninstall the software and reinstall the software while the evic is connected it will see it, but otherwise nothing.
You need to Right click MVR and Run as Administrator.
It is a windows 7 thing. All about permissions
Mine will pick up either of my eVics as long as it is running under Administrator mode.<every time>
