Troubleshoot: Weak DCT Taste/Flavour

How about the composition of your juice? It may affect your wicking if you are using the smoktech's DCTs, as the hole may be too small to give efficient wicking. What I'll usually do is:

1)Do a few hard draws (Without Firing!!!) to draw the liquid from the tank to the carto. In some instances, it helps.

2)After a couple of hard draws, you'll feel the taste of whatever you are supposed to be vaping. Pull out your drip tip to double check the polyfill.

3)If your juice colour is obvious, you can see the colour of your juice in the polyfill.

4)If you still taste Chow Tar taste after following the last few steps, throw your carto swa. Go get a new one or something. It's not funny vaping on Chow Tar Juice. I have a friend who used to vape Chow Tar Juice. Thinking that it's normal.

Normally got chao tah taste still okay,once you get that burnt taste like when you talek a dry atty..that one is really can throw liao.

Tried the methods above still got burnt taste. Checked with a friend of mine and he said that I have to drip some liquid into the middle to wet the cottons the first time (totally didn't know about this). When I was trying to suck the liquid a few times without firing suddenly got a small piece of black thingy came out...

Funny Discovery, in the midst of my "dulan-ness" I pulled out the DC carto out of my tank, then I saw bubbles coming out from my hole.. I was like wtf? i shove it back in, and tried to vape.. VAPOUR GALORE! WOOHOO!

While I'm absolutely unsure wtf happened, why pulling out my carto a little bit caused bubbles to come out from the holes of my carto. Which I believe in turn the juice flowed in & BAM. Tons of vapour. just the way I needed it.

I did try to suck alot of times previously without pressing the power button to "prime" as some gurus say, but it never worked.

This is really surprising.. hope this vapour volume doesn't run out & I need to repeat pull out shove in everytime.. =] Happy ending.

Instead of keep pulling in and out the carto from the DCT, try this method:
suck the carto without your PV but use something to totally block off the bottom connector of the carto eg: carto rubber.

The reason why the sucking part fail for some is because instead of creating vacuum inside the DCT, they are just sucking air through the airways of the carto thus they do not see any bubbles inside the DCT from the hole. That means the vacuum is not created properly.

Try not to keep pull in and out the carto from your DCT too many times unneccessary as this will wear out the o-rings on your DCT faster.

Hey Lonely, I wished your advise came sooner, last night, 3am i totally destroyed my DCT.

I was thinking it must be a juice flow problem & thought enlarging the hole would work.

But as a 1st timer punching holes on the carto, i did a good job making the hole big, but what went frong was I used a wrong tool.

I successfully punched the hole, but the cylindrical shape of the CARTO was out of shape and couldn't fit into the O-Ring of the tank. it jammed like mid way near the hole dur to the deformation of the carto during punching. What ensured was, can fill juice but cannot push carto through.

After tons of hilarity, brute force and stupid moves(which caused a ton of juice wasted), I finally got juice into my tank & everything was in place. Connected my battery and tried to vape. NOTHING.

I tried sucking & the entire internal of the carto FILLED UP. sucking didn't work so i blew. waste juice again. this repeated for a while until i determined the holes were filling the internal of the carto so fast that air flow from the carto bottom wasn't able to flow through.

So I gave up and tried to extract the juice, mid-way i spilled the entire tank. over my body, pants, floor.
my room smells like red bull, my body started itching. all at 430am in the morning. sigh.

Fixed my Boge like Lonely mentioned to try and OMFG. Vapour so thick, so shiok. i'm wondering wtf have i been vaping all this while.. Boge Carto~ Wooooooo~

Btw, I bought the black wan, i tried to fir it into the Tank metal rim, but it cannot fit, i realise that the black Boge Carto is actually a stick tape wrapping the metal tube, and that tape increases the Girth of the Carto(Therefore it doesn't fit into the Metal rim).

FYI: Its Boge XXL 510D connection 1.4ml LR 2.0ohm. Running on Echo (4.2v I doubt though they say.) 1300mah battery.

Tts y we usually use Stainless Steel. Tape or paint, u wouldnt want to soak it into ur juice, am i right?

Hey Rakkimaru, glad u are happy with Boge cartos because i got today my first DCT tank smoktech V2 3.5ml with the smoktech carto 1.5ohm. Its very airy, not a lot of vapor and little flavor. I am running this on an Ego battery 650mah. Maybe the battery is too small to handle this carto and ohm? I should get 2ohm or higher boges?

One tip to all about the punchin holes. Maybe a small hand drill that is used in plastic modelling stuff (airplanes,cars, etc) and a small drill bit can do the job better. I have one lying around here but i have to find it and try it out. Also a dremel should do the trick.
