OK. My Riva finally arrived two weeks ago, so the good news is that I don't have to charge my battery a few times a day... yay. I had read great things so thought this would be worth the investment based on my research.

Using the Riva, I stared vaping and burnt out two carts, one actually melted and I was puffing away not realizing I likely ingested a ton of toxic chemicals (Is this even normal??) The second simply gave up on me.

Fed up, I ordered a 5-pack of Clearomizer CE2 2.4 Ohm Cartomizer - no poly fill but it has two wicks (string things). Filling it took some research, it was awesome once I got going. So I filled up a second one using my newly acquired syringe filling skills and was in a good place for a couple of days.

After the first re-fill, only one of my two cartos worked properly although with less vapor production and frequent burnt taste. With the 'broken' one, I could hear the atty at work but it just gave off fumes- I could taste flavor but exhaled no vapor. wtf.

The second carto just bummed out after its second re-fill. Same issue - fumes but no vapor and crappy taste. seriously, wtf.

My last cart just died. damn and I've developed a serious distrust of cart + atty use.

ECF community, has anyone out there had experience with a Riva and/or these CE2 2.4 Ohm Clearomizers? Does anyone have any recommendations of what I should try next. Could it be my technique? Should I have more carts/cartos/attys on rotation? Should I only be using the clearomizer once and not bother with refills? This is getting incredibly expensive and I'm losing patience. Just received new juice I can't vape. grrrr. An analog relapse is not looking so bad at this point - less hassle. Is there a simple reliable way to vape??

I always recommend eGo or Riva batteries; they come in different sizes (from 650 mAh to 1100 mAh) and voltages (the eGos are ~3.4v regulated, the new Rivas are true 3.7v). I own and use and love them both.

I have never had any luck with clearos; sorry, I know that there are plenty of vapers who use them, but they are just not worth the trouble--just my humble opinion, others may diasagree.

If you like cartomizers, LR Boge (2.0Ω) are my favorite. I also like the Smoktech single-coil 1.7Ω cartos (AKA Resurrectors), 2,0Ω and 2.5Ω and I like them. The Resurrectors run a bit hotter than the Boges and hold 2 ml of eliquid (the Boges are 1 ml).

I also like eGo-C atomizers; they have an empty tank instead of a cart. A bit more complicated than a cartomizer, and requires some maintenance, but worth trying. They are technically a three-piece system: you fill the tank with ejuice, insert it into the atty cone, screw the atty cone onto the battery and vape! Not much harder than filling a carto...

Good luck and happy vaping!
