I refer to episodes like last nights as their "sloppy Wrap Up" episodes.

That's a good way to put it. Can't expect fireworks every episode I guess. I have to say I'm almost as interested in Eric's story as the rest.

Unfortunately, it's not downloadable. :grr: I even have the Roku box that allows me to download straight to my tv.

Yeah, HBO and the other pay TV stuff aren't keen on having their shows streamed. Too worried about it hurting their DVD sales.

See that's strange, I just watched my DVR'd copy of last nights episode and am starting to come around to liking this season and where it is going.

However, at least one of the books (more like 2+) plot is being destroyed by the deviations. Without going into specifics... well it really sucks because that was some of the coolest stuff in the series.

So to sum it up: This season is starting to hook me, however I think it's going to be the "Alan Ball" show before too long because they are killing some of the major plot lines. :/

SPOILER ALERT - 8/7/2011 - That bummed me out, too. I was really expecting him to become a cat of a different color or something. It blows me away they made lycanthropy hereditary only. I am, however, kind of fascinated with where they could be headed with the whole necromancy thing.

She's not like that in the books. I had a big problem with how much they botched the Sookie character. In the books she's not miss provocative constantly wearing barely anything. She is portrayed to be a size like, 12 - 14, and she's a hell of a lot more tough. In the book, .... actually happens to her. She never just screams and ducks behind the nearest vampire like she does in the series.

*book spoilers ahead..*

She actually ends up shooting, killing, and hiding the body of Debbie Pelt. She's a lot less "I will speak for myself thank you." and a lot more "Shut the hell up.". And that whole thing where she disappears into fairy land just never happens. But she still ends up with Eric, even without him having to buy her house.

Yeah.. I agree, Sookie in the series is a bit annoying. But I think the whole hot southern bell thing sells better.
