this is what it was originally. A novelty pen/fan that I found at a Big Lots store here in Michigan..

pull it apart, pull out the motor, drill hole in end for connector, wire the connector to the leads that the motor was attached to, put it all together.
The motor had a ground spring making contact with the casing, so you have to make a ground contact of your own inside the casing for the atty, cause the end cap that the connector goes into is plastic.. It looks chrome but I dont think it would be conductive..

That looks like the same one, and they offer different colors there as well.
I have been using this the last couple of days at work and it has had a lot of comments, people seem to like it.
You can pull the Pen part off of it and it is just about the same size as a 10440 laser pointer mod is.
I notice the link you gave is a site in the UK?
If anyone sees a US supplier for these please post.
