Try this the next time you are refilling a cart

I have started doing this recently when refilling cartomizers (from the mouthpiece end) and have had great success:

When the cartomizer appears to be full and juice has started pooling on top of the filler material.

...With the rubber stopper on the battery end in place...

Take one of the rubber caps and place it on the mouthpiece end. Push it up and down like a plunger a few times. This will force the liquid down into the filler material and expel any air. It also seems to push out most of the juice from the center hole as well.

Add more juice if needed and repeat.

Some carts will already be full and this method will have no affect but for me it is working well and I am getting a lot more drops in my carts than I was before I started doing this.

I stuff Fluval into a 901 and trim loose fibers from the top. Then pull it about halfway up and out to where it looks like a chubby little cotton ball. Drop 13 drops on to it then stuff it back down. Another 2-3 drops before it puddles. Much experimentation leading to this combination to get maximum saturation and not a mouth full of overflow.

How many drops are you getting and how are those refills working in comparrison to a fresh cart? Vapor, lifespan?

Nothing beats a fresh cart but...

The first and second refills are near fresh cart quality IMO. From there the mileage varies. I would say on average, a cartomizer lasts me about 6 refills. I have had some only last 3 refills, and had one I refilled 12 times.

On empty cart I get about 22 drops give or take a few. (I haven't actually kept a close count).

vapor and taste is comparable but they spend most of their time on a passthru.

After trying many different methods to refill, I have found the plunger method to work the best for me and I would like to thank you gib for the valuable tip..:D

I received some blank cartomizers today, but they do not have the o-ring that goes between the tip and the filler material. So I took the o-ring out of another cartomizer and used it. Does anyone know exactly what the o-ring is for? I am thinking it is to help keep the liquid in the filler material where it belongs in case one draws real hard.

I am using it with some Apple Cinnamon I got from Vermont Vapor to try. I ordered a sample pack from them just to try some other flavors...so far Steve's carts are the best so still hoping for his blanks. The blanks I have do not seem to provide as much vapor but is enough to satisfy. But I am disappointed they did not come with the o-ring and am going to let the vendor know. BTW, the blank took about 30 drops to fill...I think this is equal to about 1ml of liquid. I may have been able to put a bit more in it...still experimenting with these.

It would be awesome if someone could do a video showing this method. Sorry I don't do videos, but until people can see how well this works I don't know how many will try it. I can get a lot of liquid in a cart and I hardly ever put too much in.

I was going to do a refill video for the contest but couldn't get a close enough shot for it to be useful. Plus I don't do videos either.

Also, If I put too much liquid in the cartomizer, I pull off the rubber stopper and do another plunge or two. It pushes the excess liquid out of the battery end. (I hope that made sense.)

Exactly... you nailed it. I had a mishap with a dropper bottle and pushed the excess out.

got a question some in here might have an answer for...I just bought blank cartomizers from cigeasy and after filling and trying it, I got an awful taste. I let the cart sit for 10-15 mins expecting that to be sufficient time to absorb. I guess my question is, do cartomizers have primer fluid as well?

I haven't used any of the green cig carts, But with the V4L carts I wash them out.

Basically take off the hard plastic end cap, remove the rubber ring.

Now I just run hot water through if for about 10 secs.

To dry it out I use a small air compressor set at very low pressure, and it blows all of the water out.

Then just refill, and replace stopper, cap and good to go.

CAUTION!!! Use an air compressor, DO NOT use "canned AIR"
Canned Air is NOT air, and contains a number of things you do not want to inhale!

Makes perfect sense...I would rather do it this way than blow it out. Gonna try it next time I put too much in.

Gonna have to try this I only recieved my order 5 days ago and honestly I vape on so many diff ones I don't think I have exactly experianced any truely running out ( but I rushed to refill them anyhows and ended up with a bit too much) yuck:cry: to bad I had already filled 6 carts ( that didn't need it ) and let them all sit over night before figuring this out:( hehe anyways I spent about an hour fixing my mistake, blowing like crazy and trying to make sure I didn't drop any nictonie solution or clean up papertowels where my dog's could get them. Any hints on when it is the right time to cap one off ? I thought they were empty or getting there when the vapor amount and flavor lessened ( didn't want the cart to get that burnt taste i heard about ) is there a bit of warning between going empty and burnt?
