You are completely right about it being a commitment. I wish you the best of luck switching to it. The longer you do it, the more you realize that it is better, and that you feel better overall. In just a week I have more energy than I have had in years! (With a two year old, that means a lot! ;p) I'm not as easy to snap. I just feel more like the me I thought I was ... if that makes sense.

Keep at it, don't give up! vape through it. Come here and talk through it.

You crack me up, Al - with some of your witty comments. ;)

I have kind of gone full circle with the tobacco flavors. At first, I didn't think I wanted anything but a tobacco flavor - then I decided, who needs tobacco flavor, these other flavors are great and none of the tobacco flavors were all that great. But, now...well, one day I just needed a tobacco flavor and found the ones I turned my nose up before, have grown on me. I guess I got a bit burned out on all the sweet stuff I was vaping. I'm going to try some coffee again and see if I like that better now, too. I also heard black tea is pretty good.

Cigarettes deliver a nearly instantaneous nicotine hit while nicotine delivery from vaping is much slower. I planned my vaping strategy around avoiding dramatic nicotine level drops. At first I vaped two or three drags every ten to fifteen minutes and vaped more if I wanted to. I also vaped a higher nicotine level an hour before going to bed and when first getting up in the morning. I don't need the higher level in the evening and morning anymore but still stick to frequent vaping.

My method might not work for you but I think it is important to realize that getting a speedy nicotine hit from vaping is not going to happen and plan your strategy for quitting accordingly.

I wish you every success in your journey to quitting.

Wow lots of great ideas and sincere support. great to know so many have given so much in-depth thoughts to the subject.

So this what I have come to at this point.

I want to do some non-tobacco flavors for two reason
1) Stealth Vaping, if someone thinks they smell tobacco, trouble...
2) Variety, the spice of life or so it is said.

I want to do some diy eLiquids to see if I can can get vaping mixtures that suit me. I feel like I want to reduce throat hit a bit and I think a more subtle understated flavor mixture might be more to my liking. You probably heard this old adage snipped from Browning a few time "Sometimes less is more". But either way mixing allows me to tailor the mix to my preference as it changes through time.

And now I believe a variable voltage battery is another tweak that probably would be useful.

Welcome, Good Luck, and Congratulations.
I can only comment on what worked for me. I would say that if you go the DIY route, to give unflavored a fair shake. I find it more satisfying as I'm not straining to taste each puff. I can mix any strength to suit cravings (without having to use up flavors), and its cheap. TH isn't that important for me, so I've been mixing 100% VG (less TH, more vapor.) Keep us updated.

If you use low resistance (1.8ohms) clearomizers, you will find that you can get dizzy off a few puffs of 24mg nicotine e-juice. :p
I ordered on of those and I was pondering if getting overloaded might be something that could occur. Thanks for the report on that one, I do indeed appreciate it. :)

I don't have much to add, but wanted to extend my support. You'll get there! If you keep going, you'll eventually reach a spot where it's not worth the effort to buy more cigarettes. And remember, this forum is not only about information, but support. You'll read others' stories, and that will help you out. Keep vaping (inside, where you can't smoke) and reading... :)

Yes the support here is awesome, the advice really helpful, the camaraderie fabulous thanks one and all.
I just got a delivery of some vg based Cinnamon Roll WTA. I think I really like the vg base but will know more as time marches on. Not sure if the WTA is really all that much but will try to honestly assess when I get some non-WTA in the near future.
I ordered some eGo-C Twist batteries and will get some additional options to compare and try out.
It struck me that Vaping is a bit like pipe smoking used to be. My Grand Dad was really into that I recall all the paraphernalia and flavors he gathered up. So, here we all kinds of batteries, flavors, carts, drips, clearomizers etc. Strikes me that way and plenty of pipe smokers took that up to reduce the use of Analogs.

Just be aware that spicy flavors like cinnamon may cause problems with certain clearomizers. I heard some flavors like that will cause the tank to start leaking. I personally find clearomizers to be the best solution rather cartomizers, dct, or 3-piece set-ups. Long wick is better IMO over short wicks, and I like top coil more because the vapor is warmer. I would recommend a the mini vivi nova tank for spicy flavors because you can purchase a metal tank such as the one shown here: 2.5ml Metal Tube for Mini Vivi Nova Tank Clearomizer [D-A7 Vivi nova Metal tube] - $2.59 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

All the parts of the mini vivi nova tank is replaceable, and the kit gives you a few different resistances to start off (2.8, 2.4, and 1.8), so you can fiddle with it and find what resistance is best for you. Remember that too high voltage is probably too much for low resistance (I don't remember the exact numbers though but i use 3.7V w/ 1.8ohms and it works great). Other good clearomizer to try is the vision (stardust) ego clearomizer. You can also get them with replaceable parts. Mini vivi nova holds 2.0mL of liquid, while the stardust is labelled to 1.6mL and is a bit lighter & sleeker. The mini vivi nova seems more highly regarded in terms of performance. You might also want to pick up little eGo thread covering case thingy with the vivi nova clearomizer tanks for aesthetic purposes.
