Took me 5 months to give up my last cig. Many of us were dual users for awhile. Don't get discouraged if you smoke a few. Every cig you don't smoke is a win.
We have a saying on ECF. "It's not how many cigarettes you smoked today that's important. It's how many YOU DIDN'T SMOKE."

The way that worked for me was I gave myself a week to quit smoking. I had one last pack of smokes left. I vaped as much as I desired. I tried not to smoke, but if my craving got so bad I allowed myself to smoke half of a cigarette (and saved the rest for the next craving). I ended up smoking a total of 4 whole cigs a day.

Those half smoked butts tasted pretty bad, and probably contributed to me being able to quit by the end of the week. The longer I could stay away from a cigarette, the faster my normal taste buds began to heal and I learned how terrible tobacco really tastes. By the end of the week, I actually preferred the vape to the tobacco.

Don't put yourself in a position where you'll be tempted to buy more cigarettes. If you don't have charged batteries, a replacement coil for your tank, or e-liquid ... you can't vape. Keep spares just in case.

The original Crown tank is fantastic. It's what I use on a daily basis. I also use the 0.5 ohm coils at 30 - 40 watts. Coils last me about 4 weeks. Tip: Take a cotton tip applicator (Q-Tip) straight down the mouthpiece into the coil about once a week to collect the crud buildup.

What made the difference was sub-ohm, direct lung vaping at 30 to 40 Watts, aiming at flavor..
I started with mtl and found it frustrating. Just couldn't get a decent lung hit. Wasn't until I discovered dtl I saw the possibility to actually quit smoking.

I know everybody does it different, but am still surprised - two of you in a row that went straight to DTL to survive it. I think ya'll must've been serious b*ng hitters!;)

Seriously, tho - amen to all said here, Ready. Try it all if necesary. Hang in there, and do just whatever works for you!

Oh, and here's a little odd potentially helping hint: I think this came from a fellow student in college psych lab, or maybe I just read it. Try vaping in front of a mirror when the "jonesing" is the worst. I think it increases the satisfaction by about 30 percent or so. I know, it's kind of weird, but they did a study with smokers not being able to see the smoke come out (in the dark or something), and it greatly decreased their satisfaction somehow. Don't know what made me think of it recently, but hey - try anything that'll help.

I can't speak for @Letitia, but from 2013 through spring of this year, I was MTL only. All I had were Protank II's, X10's and Evod clearomizers. My devices were two 15 Watt Vamo's and a handful of VV eGo batteries. I thought that was fine until @Skold and @sofarsogood raved about something called a Pico 75. I ordered a Subtank Mini with it and I was through smoking in short order.

Heh... I did that in front of my phone's front cam and it surprised me that I couldn't see myself. The vapor cloud never looks that impressive when you're blowing it away from your face.

I have tried to quit smoking many times and go straight to vapping. I have tried so many different tanks and mods and always have issues and give up. I live in a small town where we don't have a vape shop so I can't go to someone who KNOWS what they are talking about. I just bought the I stick eleaf 50w and the uwell crown .50 ohms. What settings do I need to set my mod on? The reason I did this mod with this tank is because my boyfriend uses it and it works great for him. I like flavor over cloud, if that helps.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Looks like you now own moderate to advanced vaping equipment. The information below may help you catch up and guide you in the use of your equipment.

Hi and welcome. You're getting good advice, so I'll just offer moral support. Don't worry about the occasional cig. It took most of us some time to get off completely. The ones you don't smoke count, not the ones you do.
