Hello and welcome to ecf.

I think part of the problem is the thickness of the juice you are using. for bdd coils a pg/vg 50/50 or a little thinner is usually better.
I would recommend an INNOKIN IClear 16. Coils at the top, easy to fill, just unscrew the mouth piece to fill. Then vape. Just make sure to keep the wicking saturated. That is accomplished by tilting the ecigs a couple of times every 6 hits or so. Easy, quick and painless. The unit can come apart cleaned with warm water or soaked in everclear overnight, dried throughly, and put back into the tank, reassemble, fill and vape.

Good Luck.

:)
Here is a link to what I am talking about. Just to give you an idea.

Sugar and Spice hit the nail on the head here.... You need a thinner juice. I vape 80/20 PG/VG usually without any issues with stock coils. When I rebuild them I use organic cotton... It just wicks so much better. With the thicker juices sometimes the juice doesn't vaporize fast enough and that's how you end up with juice in the mouth instead of vapor. :vapor:

It also can have a lot to do with how you are drawing on it. Vaping is not like smoking, so therefore you shouldn't try to draw on it like a stinkie. Long slow drags, kinda like sucking out of a straw. All I use is Protank IIs and minis. Never had that problem. My juice is anywhere from. 100% VG or 70%VG 30%PG. Good luck & VAPE ON:vapor:

I love vaping. I enjoy it and it's very relaxing..

A couple months ago I stopped vaping because of a problem I had with my protank 2.. It leaked (not sure the proper term used) into my mouth non stop. I would clean it wash it. Fill it up with juice. Take one hit and all the juice would end up in my mouth. It got really annoying so I decided to rebuild the coil as I was recommended on this forum. I bought 2.5mm silica wick and a 32g kanthol wire. I watched grimmgreens video a ton of times and built over 15 coils. Unfortunately nothing helped.

A couple days ago I wanted to give vaping another try so I watched his video again and tried building another coil so it wouldn't leak into my mouth... I still had no luck. I pretty much have up on the protank 2. If anyone has had this problem and was able to fix it or knows of a video that fixes it. Please link me ( I've watched around 8 videos on this).

As I've pretty much given up on the protank 2. I'm looking for a higher end tank. One that I won't have to fiddle with at all and one that will produce great clouds and flavor. I don't really understand much about ohms but I heard for me the ideal ohm resistance is around 1.6-1.8.

I have a vamo v3 that I love. But unfortunately it's very beat up with juice due to all the leaking. One mod that I had my eye on was the SVD.

Other information

I vape a vamo v3

90% of the juices I have are 80vg 20pg

I'm looking for a higher end tank

A solution for my protank 2 problem if there is one

And maybe even a mod- one no bigger than the vamo v3 with an 18350 battery.

Please and thank you in advanced for any information or help this community gives me.

Don't give up i wouldn't go back to BT and there NDVs i haven't been vaping long and don't want to disrespect any vapers 1 less smoker is all good to me. I started out with a friend who had been vaping a while by doing some research on what to get I didn't much like CE4s which are ubiquitous it seems and wanted to vape without spending the fortunes some vapers do. 1st buy was a terrible Ego VV broke in less than a week Then I got an SVD which came with 2 iClear 30(s) and as my friend had done some leg work got a couple of Kanger II V2 Minis with the Ego looked ridiculous on the SVD so exchanged 1 for a ProTank II and got another 1 so I could rotate flavours I too only vape high VG juice. No matter what i did i had problems read the forums over and over and over again tried fixes, rebuilt coils, changed wicking material over and over again. Same problems inconsistent vape, flavour issues, coil death in 2 days with dark juices, poor stock attys performance and tried a few maybe 12-15, airflow and damn pyrex like an eggshell (I spend most my time on a boat) not to mention they leaked if left, flooded and got so tired of a mouthful of juice blowing like the north wind so i could have a vape.

I had enough and went on a mission my friend who had also tried and tried given we both come from an engineering background and are used to problem solving threw in the towel.

On a whim and after vaping for only 3 weeks knowing i would quit if i didnt move forward I bought a GG Ithaka clone from Fasttech for a newbie like me this may of not been a wise choice but after building coils with the Kangers I was ready for the long vaping road ahead. After some newbie errors and help from the vaping community I got it working and my first few vapes were heaven sent dodgy single coil, cheap silica what a vape I confess I almost threw the ProTanks out the window it was a revelation.

I had only the single clone for weeks, once I followed some methodology I rebuilt it many many times, its been a rock of a tank works at low temps, cant really fault the build quality for less than the price of a couple of ProTanks, never leaks, never has dry hits, never floods and vapes like candy floss and is cheap in real costs.

Now I am not here from someone who has only been vaping for a few weeks to put down anyone that has what works for them if they have perfected there ProTanks and they work for them and that means 1 less smoker it's all good in my book. I am merely recounting my own and at times frustrating experience we all want to vape most kicked the evil habit and took up vaping some seek a vaping nirvana. For me and my usual environment it is paramount i get a working setup, I just want a delivery system that works with the least amount of resistance at the most reasonable cost vapingnitis has hit me hard and now i want to build everything but such is the life of a vaper I am not the only one.

I sold, gave the PTs and iClears away there wasn't much point as my friend said after vaping the Ithaka clone 'I have seen the light' don't get me wrong it's not perfect by any means but we all want to vape.

I rebuild it on a boat to give you an idea, it takes 15 mins to strip it down to clean it, cut the wool, wind the coil, trim, reassemble and fill it each time it brings a smile to my face, each time i know the taste of the juice I vape it just works and has airflow control, juice control, self adjusting 510 brass centre pin and feels like its not going to break anytime soon.

My friend as other posters have said went with cartomisers as he works long shifts and like me needs it to work with the least amount of hassle, we just dont have the time to fix problems all the time it is just not practical or good for our sanity. In the past few days its working out for him and he reports low juice usage and good flavour so it's all a learning curve choose what works for you and Vape on! Hope you get there and it works for you.

I have also convinced my fairer other half to take up vaping now she just wouldnt be best pleased with issues on a frequent basis bless her I needed a solution cant see her wanting to eternally fix flooding, gurgling and poor vaping when trying to give up smoking.

I have used all the all the kanger tanks at one point or another, while I dont use them anymore only advice i can tell you is, juice does play some part in it but you are saying ""90% of the juices I have are 80vg 20pg,"
so they do have thickness.
if they are still flooding with that ratio it has to be that either the coils you have built are not seated all the way to the bottom of the flue.or that the top flavor wick is allowing it to drain into the tank...

If you are building coils you may wish to look into a rda you will get great flavor and never have that straw effect your getting..
other then that info only other way i can help is by giving you some alternative links besides grims to possibly give you some more insight on the matter.

I have 2 kanger protank 2's and I love them. The only time I ever had a gurgling problem was when I used stock coils and wicks. They are absolute garbage. Now I recoil them with 30 gauge kanthol and rewick them with cotton and absolutely love them. No gurgling in weeks. After putting my coil in the head I then roll up a piece of cotton and run it through the coil so it fits tight. Then I add a small rolled up cotton wick on top of all of that. Never have problems. I also adjust my airflow by turning the protank on top of my device to either line up the air holes with the device to get an open draw or twist the tank to close off the airflow a little and cause more suction to the wick. Lots of people are having problems with these things and even GrimmGreen (on youtube) is suggesting staying away from them. I love them and consider them rebuildables of a sort. Similar to most vaping equipment that I have bought, you have to take it apart and tinker with it to get it to work properly. I wouldnt mind buying another one. I am sorry so many of you are having problems with them. There is nothing worse than fighting with your equipment to get a good vape. :(

so I dont just sound like a fanboy for kanger, lol I would like to add that if its not working for you then dump it and try something else. You sound like you are willing to recoil and rewick so get yourself a cheap RBA. When I first started in RBA's I bought cheap ones like the RSST and a IGO. They are easy to set up and give great flavor and you will not have any gurgling issues at all as they wick up instead of the bottom coil design of the protank's. Vaping is frustrating, because there is alot of trial and error to find equipment and juice that fits you. What some people love others hate. Keep at it and eventually you will find your way. :)

They're kinda pricey. Here's a highly regarded Vendor with reasonable prices:
IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us!
I own a couple and it's a quality setup.
Also, on the cheap and not susceptible to cracking are the Texas Tuff Tanks. Great and inexpensive way to get your feet wet with carto tanks. I know everybody is loving the Phiniac and IBTanked stuff but these are awesome little rigs. Don't know for sure, but these may be the ones Ray from Valley View came up with. Cheap and functional.

Get some good Ikenvape, Smok or Boge slotted or punched cartos and you are golden.

Agree. I own some similar Texas Tuff Tanks but sold by another Vendor and I LOVE the side screw for refilling and equalizing pressure when needed. GREAT post/ suggestion

Time to try a different tank. Aspire BDC, Innokin iClear 30 s, maybe a carto tank, or possibly a Kayfun style rba. PT's where on my PIF list this Christmas, along with my ego's and cig-a-like set. Gave it all away. Good gear that works for you is where one finds satisfaction with vape, great quality gear is where total vape satisfaction and extreme joy is found. Personally the PT is not on my list of recommendations. I no longer subscribe to atomizers that breath through the 510 stem connection. But that's me. Good luck on finding the right atomizer for you, I know it can be done.
