Trying to decide between....

I currently use Kanger T3's, and like them. The vapor is great, and I like that they never give dry hits.
Now I am looking to buy the next tank system. I use an eGo 1100 mAh battery.
What is the main difference between the Kanger Evod and Protank, other than looks? Should I just skip past both and get a F16? I like the ease of refill I get from the Kanger's. I can foresee problems with swapping a carto in a full tank.
any suggestions?

No personal experience with either the Evod or Protank. I've never been a huge fan of any string-wicked delivery device, but I can understand that they have their place in vaping.

The cartotanks involve a little more work to setup, but I believe that they are worth it. Better flavor and not being position dependent. No problem with leaking in my experience.

I've never had a problem with the few times I've needed to swap flavors, but then I have always had multiple tanks available and not needed to do that often. Just empty the unused juice into an appropriate container (empty juice bottle), save the filled carto by capping both ends with the condoms that empty cartos ship with and tape the holes. Then clean the tank and start fresh with new carto.

I use the iclear16 to taste juice and then into a carto tank it goes. I like glass tanks so I don't have to worry what I
put in it. As with anything new there is a learning curve, however I always return to my tanks.

I have used both, the EVOD is an eGo sized tank while the ProTank is larger in diameter. I like both and both work well. If you plan on using it on an eGo I would go with the EVOD, if using a larger PV without eGo threading I would go with the ProTank. One other eGo sized device would be the mini BCC Vapeonly/ISmoka 1.6ml BCC (Bottom Coil Changeable) Mini Tank Kit , using one of these on an eGo Twist and it is working well too.

I use Phiniac Glass tanks. They provide the best tank re-filling tool from the several I have tried:

When I am replacing the carto completely in a tank that has eliquid in it, I just put some masking tape on the top side, turn it over and replace the carto. I've never had a leak when doing this. You do want to put a little bit of eliquid around the top of the new carto to ease it through the bottom hole.

Do you really prefer that tank re-filling tool over the Slap Yo Moma? I have the Phiniac tool and found it to often get stuck in the carto; there's not enough of the tool exposed to get an adequate grip on it to pull or pry it off the carto, even with the little thumbnail indentation. In addition, this tool still has two corners that can potentially put unnecessary pressure on the inner o-rings as it passes though the endcaps; the whole point of using a tank tool is to protect the o-rings.

The SYM tool has no points to cause unnecessary pressure on the o-rings, and it's skinny shape at the top allows easy removal from the cartomizer.

I tried a "somewhat" similar one from Madvapes like yours and the eliquid would backup in it which was a pain. I guess yours doesn't do that or you wouldn't be recommending it, lol. I guess I will have to give yours a try.

The SYM has been my go to tank tool for a while. Previously to that, I used the tool from Phiniac, and maybe I wasn't using it right, but as Bad says those corners kept nicking my o-rings. I switched to the SYM and my o-rings are in much better shape. I keep the Phin tool as a backup, but I use the SYM every day. I got the delrin version instead of SS to save a few bucks and it works great. Cheers!

If you like the T3, the Evod and Protank are further steps in the same form. They should have lower head prices as it is a smaller assembly than the T3. Getting a carto tank like the F16 is an inexpensive way to see the difference, but I wouldn't recommend investing much more until you try it. Unless they leak or you use an acidic juice, they all do the same basic job. Carto tanks and bottom coil clearos have different flavor and performance, and you should experience that before spending much.

One important factor is the juice you like. Cartos perform best with thinner juices (80/20 pg/vg), while clearos seem best with higher vg juices, especially the 60/40 mix I prefer. The juice that performs well in your T3 may need to be a bit thinner to perform well in a carto tank, in my experience.

As you live in the Phoenix area, your best bet would be to visit one of the local vape shops and see if you can test drive your options. Good luck finding what works best for you!

I've been using the Kanger Protank for a few weeks now and loving them. I bought the first one and then ordered four more. The flavors come through much better than a rope wick clearo and since they are bottom feed you don't have to tip and roll them for great wicking. Being glass tanks you can use any vape juice. To clean them I just rinse them out with hot tap water, let them dry for a few, then refill them with 3ml and I'm good to go.
